Gibbs is such a beast, we all knew about the speed when he was drafted but damn for being a smaller guy he doesn't go down easy when he gets hit. -

Yeah after seeing the replays I agree he was short. The first one where he was spinning into the goal line he may have been in but don't think there was evidence to overturn the on field call even if the Broncos challenged it. -

Lions catch a huge break there, I thought the runner was in on 3rd down and then Denver commits a questionable offsides penalty on 4th. Then to top it off Payton elects to go for the FG so it's still a 3 possession game. -

Melinfowu has had himself a game thus far, even the TD he gave up he fought the entire time. -

Sean Payton showing everybody where Campbell gets his 4th down aggressiveness from. -

Damn Barnes with about as bad of miss tackle as you will see, he had the rbs dead to rights and he completely whiffed.......and now he is injured so maybe that could've been why. -

14-0 Lions after the Gibbs TD reception. Really good drive right there, btw you can just tell the fans so desperately want Jamo to get going, it seems like they cheer louder every time his name is called after a reception. -

Goff probably should've just thrown at at Montgomery's feet cause he was clearly going nowhere. -

In most years he'd have a real shot but Stroud has that locked up imo. -

One of the better defensive series of the season right there. -

LaPorta is a beast! -
It's not wise to make any brash moves until we see how great the team is when it gets Monte Morris back.

I know he supposedly doesn't get along with the GM but on the surface Chicago would be the best job. They have an up and coming team, 2 early 1st round picks including the number 1, money in FA and a potential asset in Fields if you decide to trade him. If you do the latter and draft Caleb or Maye you also get a year with limited expectations since most people don't expect you to be SB contenders with a rookie QB. On top of that even though I like our future it's not like the Lions have a Patrick Mahomes or something that will guarantee that they are going to be contenders for the foreseeable future nor does the rest of the division so that makes it even more appealing. Again though this is just from an on field standpoint, have no idea how the relationship he has with upper management and or ownership could factor into that.

Harbaugh has won every where he went so in that sense you have to believe in him but on the other hand he has been out of the NFL for a decade now and alot has changed in the league since then so if I was an NFL team I would tread carefully with him. Guys from his generation and age haven't exactly been taking the league by storm in recent years save for Andy Reid who has the best QB on the planet on his roster. And even his team appears to have taken some steps back after losing his hotshot assistants.

Yeah that's kinda what I figured that's why I threw out giving him a pretty big raise for the option year to try to entice him but like you said he's probably just betting on himself and hoping to get a good multi year deal next year.
-
lol figures, whenever I go by a "feeling" instead of actually checking there ends up being obvious examples that I miss.

Just thinking about the Flaherty contract, you don't really hear about club options anymore so it probably couldn't of happened but I wonder if there was a way to try to convince him to take a club option 2nd year? Like maybe have the 2nd year be a club option of 20 million which would be a 6 million dollar raise. Just throwing that out there cause I do think he is the type of guy that we could potentially turn around, maybe not to his pre 2020 days where he was a legit ace but maybe a solid number 2 in which case it would be nice to have another year of control for him and at 20 million that wouldn't be a bad deal at all. Also would make him more attractive at the trade deadline as well if we decided to sell, but again he probably wouldn't have accepted since like I said doesn't seem like club options are a thing these days but just something I wonder if there was any potential thought to it.

I know people will scoff at the idea of Glenn becoming a HC due to our defense but just cause you're not a good Coordinator doesn't mean you won't make a good HC or vice versa. Assuming the Lions win the division this year and God willing win a playoff game or 2(doesn't look good at the moment but who knows) I think teams will still be interested in Lions coaches due their perceived culture with Campbell and company. The fact is that its a copycat league so teams may think Glenn could turn out like Campbell and bring that type of success to their team. I mean hell look at Matt Patricia getting hired by us, the Patriots defense was giving up nearly 30 a game under Patricia but he was still seen as a hot commodity since he was Belichek's perceived right hand man.

Scherzer just had surgery on his back and is going to be out until July. Jacob DeGrom had TJ surgery in June so he's likely out until atleast that same period as well so as of now the Rangers look like they could use a starter or two. If we are entertaining thoughts of trading somebody they could be a fit.

Staley indeed finally gets fired.

I know the seats are a little wider and roomier(atleast I think they are) but I never got why the seats down by home plate got upgraded. I'm only judging based off of TV but it seem like most other stadiums have the big padded "first class" type chairs behind the plate where as Comerica is essentially the same as a regular seat. Aside from the comfort of the fan I just think aesthetically on TV it looks cheap and less than when you compare it to other stadiums.
-
Yes this is what I meant, they're the type of guys that have a real chance at being MLB regulars but are far from sure things and are the type of playerss that you expect a system to have multiple of in any given year so if you are afraid of blocking players like that then you might as well never dip your toes into FA or trading cause you should always have guys like that in your system. As you said they're not the premium guys like Greene and Tork were viewed at where you may only get prospects of that caliber every 5-10 years so you want to make sure that you take full advantage of them.
-
I know the Chargers are banged but this is exactly why people are correct in saying this is a week to week league and why you can't compare things by saying things like "Team x struggled against team y, team z dominated them so team z is better than x."
-
I hate this notion of "blocking" a hitter, particularly with how players and teams lineup today. For starters hardly anybody plays 150 games even if they are healthy so guys are always taking days off and for another fewer and fewer guys have set positions instead they just plug guys all over the diamond. So between the two you can easily mix and match a number of different players and find enough at bats for all them, other teams do it all the time. Not to mention guys like Malloy and Jung aren't the type of prospects you should even be worrying about "blocking" anyway, I mean I have hopes for them but these aren't two legit top tier prospects, in my opinion. Atleast not good enough where you should be turning away legit players if you could acquire them....which to me is the main issue and that's that there aren't a ton of said players bats on the FA market. I suspect that's the main reason why we haven't or likely won't get any major bats and not because Harris doesn't want to "block" anybody.
