  1. Assuming we don't **** the bed tomorrow I think more than likely the winner of tonight's game will be our opponent in the semis. I just don't see UGA losing to Bama, I think some people are downplaying UGA due to some close wins but if you look at them against good competition and/or in perceived bigger games they have absolutely dominated them. They crushed then top 20 Kentucky, crushed number 11 Ole Miss, destroyed Tennessee in Knoxville, cruised against Florida and never looked in Jeopardy against number 9 Missouri. I expect the same in the SEC Title game. It's like they have been sleepwalking against crappy teams but when it's time to show up against the big boys or big stage they have.
  2. The thing that concerns me is that from my understanding the portal ends on January 2nd so unless JJ has already made his decision clear to the team behind closed doors they may not even know whether they should go get one of those guys or not before it's too late. Likewise those guys probably wouldn't commit to come here until they knew for sure he was leaving.
  3. Dante Moore joins Riley Leonard, Taylor Van Dyke and a number of other QBs in the transfer portal. It seems like we should make a run at one of them cause we're going to need somebody next year unless JJ does something unthinkable and decides to come back.
  4. Zips currently has the Tigers pegged at around 31 WAR, so what's that like mid to upper 70s wins? Right about at the mark where another improvement and some good fortune could make you a playoff contender.
  5. Yep I also credit Ben Johnson's play calling and designs, he has some of the most intricate rushing designs and blocking schemes in the league and to the offensive lines credit they pull them off. Also the fact that he will call rushing plays on traditional passing situations like the 2nd and 10 run or 3rd and 7 or 8 run helps boost their yards per carry.
  6. It's ok everything is going to fine once Bojan Bird and Monte Curry get off the injured list.
  7. All I know is that somehow the Pistons and Red Wings will drop 2 spots despite this being an MLB lottery.
  8. To add to that crazy ratings number, it was the most watched regular season college football game on any network since 2011 and it doubled the most watched game of the season prior to it which was Colorado vs. Oregon. Insane to think that it drew 10 million more people than ANY game all season. It was also the 2nd most watched game in the rivalry ever only trailing the "Game of the Century" in 2006 when OSU was 1 and Michigan was 2. That game drew about 2 million more viewers.
  9. Im not too concerned with Campbell yet, he's shown flashes he's just been inconsistent and often times just appears to be in the wrong place but he flashes the ability from time to time. I don't know the history of the position but it seems like inside LB may be one of the tougher ones to adapt to in the NFL since you are asked to do so many different things. Its not like say pass rusher where you are just told to basically rush the QB for example. Also I wonder if going from the pathetic Big 10 West offenses to NFL offenses is having more of an impact on his adjustment and learning then it would if say he came from an SEC school.
  10. We got today and tomorrow to avoid going 0 for November.
  11. Wonder if it would've been even better on a diff weekend other than TDAY weekend or timeslot.
  12. In regards to the fake punt, I don't necessarily think GB was expecting it but more so that they happened to be lined up perfectly to stop it. They were lined up wide just like they always do but since we chose to run it to the short side of the field there just was no space there. Against KC we were on the other hash mark so when we went right we were going up the middle of the field where there was more space. Bottom line is either Campbell or the LS should've noticed all that and called TO or in the LS case just snap it as usual since Greg Olsen said that's what they are taught to do in those situations. Also I don't buy into the not being able to sneak up on teams anymore. We were one of the most hyped teams all offseason who won 8 of 9 to end the year. Then went and beat the defending champs in their place, that is more than enough for teams to start talking you seriously.
  13. I didnt realize just how bad he was last year when I posted the suggestion. I knew he wasnt good relative to his reputation but I was thinking more in the mid to upper 4s ERA not upper 6s! Jeez that's horrendous, I said he may be willing to take a 1 yr deal but after looking at his stats that may be all a team offers him. Still though could be a good buy low guy if a team feels they spotted something that could be corrected since he's still only 29 years old.
  14. If there is a fault with Holmes and Campbell its maybe swaying too heavy to character and "football guys" instead talent. Now I don't want a team full of bad characters but it feels like they fall in love with a guys character and put that above everything else. Josh Paschal and Levi come to mind there, its like after they drafted them all they talked about was their character and not how they would make us a better football team on the field.
  15. I'll settle for a win but despite Iowa having a good defense I feel like this should play out much like it did 2 years ago or against Purdue last year. Would also like to see JJ step back up, not necessarily in the sense that I expect monster numbers cause that just isn't the type of offense we run but just in terms of his overall play. Since the 1st half of the MSU game he has seemed to be a little off with his ball placement and overall accuracy. Gonna need him to be at or near his best if we want to compete in the playoffs.
  16. How about Giolito? He's been pretty enigmatic throughout his career but when he is pitching well he is one of the best in the league. Seems like Fetter could get the good version out of him. Considering hes still pretty young he may be willing to take a 1yr prove it deal to try to regain some value and go after the long term deal next season where he will still only be 30 years old.
  17. Yeah that it a good point, while the things I said about Bama were true they did also have a couple real close wins to mediocre teams where as OSU didn't(atleast that I can remember). Also if the committee pays any attention to advanced stats OSU is better in most of those as well. Still though just based off the strength of wins Id lean Bama but I guess when you consider everything it isnt indefensible to have OSU higher.
  18. Also to me if Bama were to beat they UGA they should certainly be above OSU. Their resume would include a win against the 11th ranked team, 14th ranked team, a good Tennesee team(better than any non big 3 B1G team) and most importantly a conference championship win over a team who hasn't lost in over 2 years with their 1 loss being a 3pt defeat on the road to a top 5 team. Compare that to OSU who has wins against ND and Penn St. with their loss being to a top 2 team and to me its a no brainer that Bama has the better resume. Of course the committee says resumes isn't what matters so OSU might still get in over them in the event FSU does something to drop but if they do Id be pissed if I was Bama or their fans.
  19. That's what I was thinking at first in regards to FSU but then I thought they may have tentatively put them at 4 and gave them a little pass for their lackluster performance for it being their first game with the new qb. If it happens again though on Saturday they may not be as lucky. Louisville is a good team but they aren't elite, like an Iowa they are the type of team a playoff team should handle relatively easily so if they struggle to beat them I wouldnt be surprised to see them drop even though it would be unprecedented.
  20. In a vacuum picking Stewart where they did wasn't a terrible pick, but the fact that they traded a future first for that right made it not so good. Same with Bey, if we were to just be picking 19th you could do a lot worse than picking him but to trade an asset to get that pick and then in turn trade him just 2 seasons later makes it a bad pick. The Killian pick on the other hand was a complete disaster but I will say in Weaver's defense(I hate defending him) that whole draft process was pretty messed up that year due to COVID, not to mention we got screwed by the season ending early cause we were well on our way to a bottom 3 record if the season played out. Of course given Weaver's love for Wiseman we probably just would've taken him with the 1st pick if we ended up with that anyway.
  21. Also I read some quotes from one of the big wigs on the committee and he said something to the effect of "Our job isn't to pick the 4 teams 'most deserving' or 4 best resumes but to pick the 4 best college football teams at this moment." Also brought up how FSU isn't the same team without Jordan Travis. IDK to me it sounds like they are almost trying to talk themselves out of putting FSU in, if I were them I'd be really concerned and would do whatever I could to put up "style points" on Saturday. I wouldn't just be of the belief that a win is good enough.
  22. I saw one of the talking heads say that if FSU were to lose and Bama and Texas were to both win and it potentially came down to picking between one of them for the final spot the committee may just say "screw it" and give OSU the spot instead of having to deal with who to pick out of those two. That sounds pretty crazy but then the person brought up a precedent in 2014 where a similar situation happened between Im wanting to say TCU and Baylor, instead of picking one of them where one was the champ but the other won the h2h they just went with a completely different team, that team just so happened to be Ohio State of course.
  23. 1. UGA 2. UM 3. Washington 4. FSU 5. Oregon 6. OSU 7. Texas 8. Bama in the latest playoff rankings. I originally scoffed at the idea that OSU would have any chance to get in but I underestimated the love the committee has for them. With Washington and Oregon playing each other it may just take an FSU loss to put OSU in. I say may cause even though Texas is 1 spot behind them if they were to beat number 15 Oklahoma State and win their conference championship that may be enough to vault them ahead of OSU.
  24. I saw Klaw's write up about the Maeda signing and he likes it. He posted his 2nd half numbers after returning from the tricep injury and I didn't realize how good they were, like mid 3s ERA with matching peripherals and something like 110Ks in 88IPs. Not that I'm expecting that necessarily but maybe he ends up being alot more than "just" a solid innings eater in the rotation. BTW he did have a line in there that made me chuckle, said something like "The Tigers who have an improving offense but have a rotation that was filled with Tarik Skubal and 4 guys made up by AI needed a guy like this.."
