  1. Just watched the last minute of the game after getting out of the shower, now I got to jump right back into it after rooting for the Bears for that brief moment.
  2. I like JEIII saying the Pistons don't want to make any panic moves instead they want to see what they are like when they are healthy. Dude unless they have prime MJ hurt on the roster they aren't going to be anything but horrible even when they are healthy. Yeah they are missing some pieces but they are also 2-15 and just got blown out by the 2nd worst team in the league. If the Pistons were sitting at say 8-9 or even 7-10 while being competitive most games I could understand that sentiment but they are getting boat raced every game, guys like Bogey and Morris(if he ever comes back) aren't going to make some drastic difference.
  3. I was about to say if Fields keeps playing like this it's going to make Poles decision tough, I mean you can't pass on a supposed generational talent at QB can you? But at the same point just think of the bounty you could get for that generational talent that you could then use to build around Fields if you truly believe in him?
  4. Tyler Van Dyke of Miami is in the transfer portal, could he be somebody Michigan goes after to be their QB in 2024 if/when JJ leaves?
  5. The Clubhouse Manager down in Toledo better stock up on the good laundry detergent cause he's going to be going through alot treating Vilade's unis every game.
  6. When it rains it pours. Is Darius Leonard still available?
  7. Birkett says that Hendon Hooker is supposed to start practicing this week. That's the first news I heard of him in awhile.
  8. I think all they are really expecting is a league average starter that can give them 150 innings a year. Basically what Lorenzen was for us before the trade last year. In this day and age 12 million a year for 2 years is a solid deal for that type of production.
  9. Yeah my biggest fears are playing out exactly how I envisioned them around this time last year. I remember saying that I feared that Chi would get the first pick, they then would get a haul for it including a 1st in next year's draft and that 1st would turn into a top 5 pick. Having it be not just a top 5 pick but number 1 overall was the worst case scenario but even I wasn't expecting that but here we are.....
  10. They're gonna be favored in every game the rest of the way except for Dallas and maybe at Minny if they are still playing well.
  11. I'm thinking more 8/200 for him but who knows if teams like the Mets and Dodgers get into a bidding war. I'm hoping they are more focused on getting Ohtani though and don't throw crazy numbers at Yamamoto.
  12. Hell they couldve stood pat and got a really good player at 10, still have DJ Moore and be in line to get Caleb or Drake Maye this year.
  13. Maybe Stroud plays completely different on the Panthers but as is trading up and passing on him for an inferior qb should be a fireable offense.
  14. Yamamoto is the type of player I could see making a major impact on attendance during his starts. Unfortunately being a pitcher that would likely only mean about 15 or so games but I could easily see an extra 5 or even 10K depending on the day/time/weather etc. If that were to happen you're talking an extra 100 to 150k fans. Even at the conservative estimate of 50 bucks a head thats an extra 5 to 7 million he would bring in independent of the the upgrade he'd make on the field which would lead to more revenue. And that's not even factoring in jersey and other merchandise sales.
  15. I wonder if we could tempt Yamamoto with a short term opt out that way he isn't committed here long term if he doesn't like it.
  16. While its not literally a must win I feel like this is an important game to win. Dont even want the thought of collapsing to start creeping up in people's minds and I think back to back losses to inferior teams could bring that.
  17. Don't know if there is any actual truth to it but the old cliche has always been the quickest way to contention is through great starting pitching and I think we could potentially have a really good staff by adding Yamamoto. Skubal was almost literally the best pitcher in baseball from the time he returned in early July to the end of the year. Pairing another potential ace with him would give us a 1-2 we haven't had since JV and Max. I think a rotation of them 2 along with Olson, Mize, Manning, Maeda and maybe Jobe later in the season could be one of the better ones in baseball. Especially when you factor in Fetter who seems to get the most out of guys.
  18. The nightmare scenario for the committee would be what you proposed except have Texas beat Oklahoma St. In that case you'd have UM of course and the PAC 12 Champ. But then you'd have UGA, Bama and Texas left for 2 spots, who do you leave out? They all have 1 loss with Texas beating Bama, Bama beating UGA and UGA being the consensus 1 all season and 2 time champ. If you go by h2h then you'd have to leave UGA out since Bama beat them and Texas beat Bama. But if you go by overall resume and who you feel is the better team than it would be hard to leave UGA out. I guess you could take all 3 and then leave out the PAC Champ if it ends up being 1 loss Oregon but considering how well they have been playing that would be a mighty tough pill for them to swallow.
  19. Good get, if he helps bring Yamamoto even better but regardless he should be a steady reliable arm in the rotation which is something this team sorely needs.
  20. If Bama beats Georgia than Bama and Georgia are both in. No way the committee takes OSU over either the 1 loss SEC Champ Bama or the two time defending National Champion 1 loss Georgia team. The only way OSU gets in is if FSU loses, Texas loses, UGA wins, UM wins AND possibly Washington win or a decisive Oregon victory. If it's a close Oregon win then it would be hard to take OSU over Washington who atleast made it to their conference championship game while playing in the tougher conference throughout the season and having just as many quality wins as them. Basically they can't afford the chance at 2 PAC or 2 SEC teams getting in which Washington and UGA losses would possibly open up the door for.
  21. I think OSU needs Texas to lose as well cause I think them being a 1 loss conference champion with a non conference win over Alabama would trump OSU.
  22. I guess he could've had JJ but he chose McCord over him which led to JJ coming here. There was an article on the Athletic about that earlier.
  23. Definitely would take quite a few things to happen. First and foremost they would need FSU to lose which definitely could happen given their QB situation. They then would need to hope Texas loses or atleast doesn't look impressive in the Big 12 Championship, if they completely dominate then they'd probably get picked ahead of Ohio State and even if they don't just them winning their championship and having a non conference win over Alabama may trump OSU in the committee's eyes. They also got to hope that Washington beats Oregon next week cause if Oregon wins a close one and Washington finishes with just their 1 loss being in their conference championship game to Oregon I can see both those Pac teams being ranked ahead of OSU. Bama is in a fight with Auburn so if they lose this one they are out but if they come back OSU would also need them to lose next week against UGA in the SEC Championship. Can't have a 1 loss Bama and 1 loss UGA team as then they'd both make it over them.
