  1. I wonder if Patterson is hurt or something and that's why they went for 2? Could explain why he missed the first XP.
  2. Lions catch a break there as Sutton trips over himself causing Watson to fall down, could've easily been a TD if that didn't happen.
  3. It's just pitch and catch right now for Love and the receivers. Making it look easy.
  4. Major break there as the Packers screw up the handoff.
  5. "And now there's an injured Lion.." You just knew it was gonna be Hutch,McNeil or Branch.
  6. About to be a 3TD game by the 2nd quarter, Pathetic performance!
  7. Looking like we are going to drop to 0-3 with Fox's "A" announcers calling our games.
  8. The especially frustrating thing to watch is that every play is a successful play, by that I mean continuing to "be on schedule" in terms of where you want to be on down and distance. If they made two good plays on 1st and 2nd down but then proceeded to give up a 3rd and long you could atleast say "well they played 2 of the downs well just need to stop those 3rd and longs" but it's not like that.
  9. Yeah whether you blame Glenn, the players or both there is no denying that this defense has been really bad the last several weeks.
  10. It may have, I just felt like being snarky so I blamed him. lol
  11. Kicker failed to do his job, I blame the Special Teams coordinator!
  12. I don't like the strategy to defer when your defense isn't good. I think you run the risk of going down 2 scores early and being forced to play from behind the rest of the game.
  13. Glenn's fault Sutton got beat outside and the safety took a bad route. Yep never the players fault always the coordinators.
  14. Are there alot of cheeseheads there or far less than usual?
  15. AJ Dillon is active for the Packers but Jaire Alexander who was listed as questionable is out. That works for me.
  16. They are middle of the pack in passing defense, 5th in rushing defense and 22nd in scoring defense. I'm not saying coordinators don't matter at all, they certainly do particularly on offense but there is only so much you can do when you are lacking talent. Cam Sutton was the Steelers 2nd and sometimes nickel corner. He is our number 1. Jerry Jacobs is an UDFA who at best is a nickel corner but is our number 2. As mentioned Campbell is one of the lowest graded LBs and starting defenders in football. Our d line has 1 stud, a good DT and some guys that would be part time players on just about any other team. Collectively there is only 2 1st round picks on the entire defense and 1 of them is a rookie who as mentioned has been horrendous. If the coordinators meant as much as you make them out to be teams wouldn't sign any marquee players or use their first round picks. Just sign any veteran and draft a bunch of mid to late round guys and have the coordinator work his magic since that's all that matters. And for the record I do agree that I think they need to blitz more but I also concede that I am just a fan and not a 15 year NFL vet like Glenn was on top of all of his coaching history. Between him and Campbell there has to be a reason why they are reluctant to other than them just being terrible at what they do.
  17. Yeah I think the time at 1B and DH hurts him. If you look at his career totals in WAR, WAR7 and his JAWS score they all are well in line with other HOF catchers but unlike most of them who played virtually entirely there Mauer only played 900 of his 1500 career games there.
  18. Aside from steroids, I also think the rapid expansion of 4 teams in a short amount in the 90s helped the HR total to some degree.
  19. Interested to see how much support Utley gets. I think he has a really strong case, his JAWS number is 57 right ahead of Sweet Lou along with a number of HOF 2bs. His 7 year WAR peak is 9th and overall WAR is 12th among 2b. On top of that for about a half decade or so he was viewed by most as either 1A or 1B(with Cano) at his position. That's the positive, the negatives is that despite those things he only managed a few top 10 MVP votes and was "only" a 6 time All Star.
  20. Magglio and Granderson's 07s are sleeper all time great Tiger seasons.
  21. IDK maybe to some extent but these guys aren't youth or High School players that you have to teach the fundamentals to, they all have been playing this game prob for 20 or so years from the time they were kids, have gone through world class coaching at every level and quite frankly have been shown how to tackle correctly. At some point its up to them to execute things properly. As far as 3rd down penalties again they know the rules, but instinctively if you get beat you will reach or grab at a guy, that's why you see Olineman always hold after they been beat, it just happens so maybe the fact that they just are an inferior player as to why they are making the penalty to begin with. Not to mention I'm not even sure that they legit are that bad at these things relative to the rest of the league, they have the 6th best 3rd down stop rate in the league which indicates they must not have too many 3rd down penalties. In regards to tackling they have one of the best rush defenses in the league and have given up the 5th fewest yards after catch in the league, two things where if you were bad at tackling you wouldn't excel at. edit: I found the missed tackles stat and they do have the 5th most missed tackles so despite those two stats I mentioned that they excel in it does appear they miss too many tackles and should be better at that. Again though not sure how much the DC can do to help that or if at some point you have to point the finger at the player.
  22. One of the committee's things they take into account is key injuries and how that effects the team going forward and with FSU losing their starting QB they could get dinged by the committee if they win ugly these next two games. Like even if they finish undefeated if their qb play looks like crap these next two games they may keep them out just cause they won't feel they would be able to beat any of the other playoff teams. That was one of the reasons Tennessee finished below Alabama last year despite beating them head to head, the committee said that Tennessee isn't the same team now as they were with Hendon Hooker. Considering though FSU would be undefeated it would be hard to keep them out over a 1 loss team but it's something worth monitoring if their QB does struggle the next couple weeks.
