So the 49ers get the ball before the end of the half and will have an extra possession in the 1st half. Deferring did not gain them an extra possession.
Stop engaging with him. He ruins every game thread. I don't know why he insists on trying to make the rest of us miserable. I wish he would go somewhere else and be miserable.
So the Lions only have two more IR activations left and Anzalone will get one of them. I'm not sure if they reset for the playoffs, but if they don't, they would only be able to return one player, possibly Hutchinson or Davis. It probably explains why Montgomery wasn't placed on IR.
The Bears are like the Millen Lions. I remember we had to get weapons for Harrington so we draft a bunch of receivers. The Bears go out and draft Odunze and trade for Allen and sign Swift, but don't put much resources into the offensive line. They do spent a lot of money on linebackers. Even Bob Quinn knew you had to spend resources on the line.
I don't know how bad the OL is and how much it is on Williams. There are numerous times receivers flash open, and he holds the ball. Even the best lines can only block for so long.
Jordan Love said his receivers need to do a better job of winning one on ones. He took some blame himself, but subtly throwing teammates under the bus is a hallmark of Aaron Rodgers. The kid learned well.
The Browns did Mayfield dirty. He did play well for them, then tried to play through injury and struggled. They then cast him off for a QB who didn't play for like two years.
The Bears four wins were against teams with like a combined 4 wins at the time. They shouldn't have even won that Titans game. The Bears were never good.
I feel like Jordan Love falls into this category. I wouldn't be surprised if he went the way of Wentz, but he doesn't seem to be the headcase Wentz was.
Holmes has taken this approach. I remember reading the Lions go by game speed using GPS than combine measurables. Teams that go by combine measurables generally don't perform well. See Jacksonville selecting Trayvon Walker over Hutchinson. I think teams are too confident in their coaching and feel they can teach athletes. It's like the old adage you can't teach speed.
