  1. Another one of my favorite arguments is Goff doesn't do well without a good offensive line. It's easier to draft lineman than it is to draft QBs who can thrive without an offensive line. Going with the expectation that we want a QB without a good offensive line is Stafford 2.0 where we don't win a playoff game and see him go somewhere else and win a Super Bowl.
  2. If we build a roster like the 49ers we can afford to trade multiple 1sts in the future when the time comes.
  3. Given how red West Virginia is, gridlocking the liberals can have its benefits there. With Feinstein unable to vote, Democrats only have 50 votes so one of Sinema or Manchin defecting blows the whole thing up.
  4. The three players taken after Rosen were Minkah Fitspatrick, Vita Vea and Darron Payne. All Pro Bowlers. If you look within the next 10 picks after Rosen you have such players as Tremaine Edmunds, Derwin James, Jaire Alexander, and Frank Ragnow. You even have some solid contributors such as Marcus Davenport, Kolton Miller and Lieghton Vander Esch. Literally all 10 players drafted after Rosen have been better players.
  5. Kahn was also very concerned about his status and I could see him wanting to be at Mar A Lago. At the same time, he felt the people who would surely be MAGA like Bill were beneath him. Ultimately, he wasn't as successful as he pretended to be which is Trump in a nutshell. If they rebooted the show, everyone cannot be MAGA or else it wouldn't be entertaining. I could see Hank being the never Trump stuck between MAGA's like Bill and his son Bobby. In some ways that's kind of how the show was.
  6. Goff has been extremely durable his entire career. Drafting a backup at 6 is a waste of a pick. Stroud isn't going to have any trade value if he's just sitting on the bench. No one is going to give a 1st round pick for Jordan Love for example. You draft a QB at 6 to be your starter and start soon. A QB taken in the top 10 is also not cheap. You're going to be paying about $7-8 million in addition to Goff's salary.
  7. I lean towards the former since he has a history of playing that well over multiple seasons such as 2017 and 2018. This isn't a Geno Smith situation where he's been a terrible QB and journeyman his whole career and breaks out at age 32. We've also seen QBs peak, decline, and peak again like Stafford. There's only a handful of QBs who are elite every single year.
  8. Substitute teacher of the year. She taught Spanish so that doesn't fit with MAGA. Luanne would definitely be MAGA. I remember one episode where she became communist so she's easily persuded. Lucky wouldn't be involved in politics. I'm not sure about Kahn. I could see Dale blaming them for COVID. It's so nostalgic to watch King of the Hill today and see how bat**** crazy the Republican party has gotten.
  9. Do you trust Manchin and/or Sinema to suspend the rule?
  10. I so want to see a reboot of King of the Hill in the age of Trump. I think Hank would be a never Trumper. He would always say that boy aint right but always come around. Dale seems like the natural pick for a Trumper but he seems too libertarian. I think Bill would be the MAGA. He seems like one who could easily get caught up in the MAGA cult. Peggy too.
  11. I'm not sure why Newsome wouldn't just pick someone like Barbara Boxer as a placeholder. Someone you know won't be running again and won't influence the election. California has already been represented by a black woman so I'm not sure why he has to play these identity politics.
  12. I don't think Hank Hill would go for that I'll tell ya what.
  13. I've read multiple trustworthy people say there needs to be 60 votes to replace her on the comitte even in the event of resignation and the Republicans will block it. I assumed the Democrats would have been able to just fill her seat.
  14. So what happens if Stroud good? Do you draft another QB?
  15. I only watched the Michigan game and wasn't impressed. He seemed like Goff and I wonder why we don't just keep the real thing?
  16. When I lived in Detroit, we had someone tried to break in through a window. We didn't have a gun but the guy was tampering with my sister's window and she screamed bloody murder and the guy ran off. It got to the point where we didn't answer the door if we weren't expecting someone. This was before doorbell cameras became common.
  17. If you're talking about Manchin, plenty of people were criticizing him. AOC immediately comes to mind.
  18. Even if Feinstein resigns, Republicans will block her replacement on the committee. The only option is she has to show up.
  19. They sure can ban woke when they cannot say what woke is.
  20. I see a lot of Payton in Campbell. The team is aggressive and has that edge that Payton's teams had. At the risk of certain posters coming and having a meltdown, I do see similarities talent wise between Brees and Goff and feel Goff can run the same offense Brees did.
  21. Campbell is smarter than people give him credit for. I've seen interviews when he talks X's and O's. He's not just a meathead ra-ra guy. He's everything I thought Patricia was going to be.
  22. Yeah and Dan Campbell fired Lynn and took over play calling and the offense immediately got better.
  23. I do think Goff would sign an extension if it were a fair offer unless he really wanted to leave Detroit. He may want to go back to California. The 49ers are always a fit. The Rams would love to unload Stafford's contract in quite a twist of irony.
  24. I don't follow college football, but wasn't Sam Howell hyped this time in 2021? Wasn't he suppose to be the guy in 2022? Wasn't there a QB on Oklahoma who was suppose to be the top QB this year that ended up getting benched? It happens every year.
  25. I remember once sitting in a Kmart parking lot in the car with my dad. I was in the back seat and we were waiting for my mom to come out of the store. A guy walks up to the passenger door, opens it, sits down, looks at my dad and literally jumped out of the seat. The best part is, he gets out and we watch him, and he gets into a white car and they drive off. My dad's car was red. I'm not sure how he confused the two unless he was color blind.
