  1. When Dearborn schools altered their practice schedule to accommodate Ramadan, there was outrage by the right.
  2. Yes. This sounds interesting. I was going to pursue Italian citizenship again so I could get my foot into the EU. It's not an easy process but shit is getting real in the US. I
  3. Pretty amazing how something in one state can be illegal and punishable by prison sentences upwards and over 10 years and in other states it is perfectly legal. No other developed country in the world has such radically different laws depending on what geographic location you are in.
  4. What's the process for seeking asylum in Canada?
  5. Democratic voters never prioritized the Supreme Court so their elected leaders never prioritized and now we are going to face those consequences for generations.
  6. Wisconsin is on board. That's potentially five seats in the senate that will at least consider carving out the filibuster.
  7. The Democrat running in my district is pro-choice but he's a 75 year old white male so he doesn't pass the purity test. I'm not really excited or enthused so I'll probably not vote. It's not like there is any difference between him and John James anyways. As a heterosexual white male, I have nothing to worry about. They won't come after my social security and Medicare. At the very least, I'll be dead by the time that happens.
  8. Bernie's press secretary. The new generation party.
  9. I hope you didn't live in Florida at the time.
  10. A younger Biden did run in 2008 but was canceled because he wasn't black or a woman. An even younger Biden ran in 1988 but was canceled because of a plagiarized speech. The irony here is that Obama was the inspiring choice.
  11. Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line. Democrats need to be inspired where Republicans see voting as their civic duty. Republicans have been working toward this for decades, Democrats give up after two years.
  12. We voted red in 2016 and now Roe has been overturned. What specifically should the geriatric leadership be doing right now to get the senate to eliminate the filibuster? In 2018 the democrats didn't have the majority in the senate. They still don't. It's OK. Go pout and see how much better things get when the Republicans who put us here are back in power.
  13. Not seeing a state with a Democratic majority outright banning abortion.
  14. A lot of people are saying they won't actually go through with it like overturning Roe, but when it happens, OMG why didn't the Democrats stop the Republicans?
  15. The first president I voted for was Kerry. I was 19. I turned 18 when the US invaded Iraq. Kerry wasn't some inspiring progressive icon but I knew we couldn't have an escalation in Iraq.
  16. A lot of them were from non progressive states. Young people also have to realize that can't get everything they want.
  17. They will sunset it in 10 years or so. I thought overturning Roe was going to be a tough sell but look at where we are now.
  18. The problem is, a lot of those democratic senator were from red states where that legislation isn't popular. Six of those senators were from states who didn't elect a Democrat again; Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
  19. Hopefully the people who didn't vote because the Democrat wasn't appealing enough are satisfied now that Roe is overturned and will be when gay marriage is ended, voting rights overturned, and social security and Medicare eliminated.
