What's there to be optimistic about? A large percentage of young people didn't vote because Hillary wasn't pure enough and now they are stuck with a conservative Supreme Court for most of their adult life.
If a fetus is a baby, why doesn't have the same rights as a baby? Why can't it be claimed as a dependent? Why can't life insurance be purchased on it? Why isn't a birth certificate issued while it's in the womb?
This got me thinking. Wouldn't be murder to pull the plug on someone on life support? Life is life. The comatose patient is relying on someone else to eat and breathe like an embryo.
I've never been more proud of my vote for Hillary Clinton. The effects of Trump are going to be felt for generations. It's worse than I ever imagined and I thought the worst of Trump back in 2016.
Both of my mother's parents lived in Italy during WWII and my dad's mother lived in Romania during that time. Both were raised as Catholics and both will protect the right to abortion for the very reason you mention here. Funny how two people can look at one event differently.
I was raised in a Catholic household and went to Catholic school from K-12. My parents were always socially conservative but protected the rights of others. A while back their church solicited them to picket an abortion clinic in Detroit. That was the day they stopped going to that church. The clinic was in Detroit and most likely the women were poor and black and those were the people they wanted to picket.
A woman should be able to take out a life insurance policy on her fetus just like she could a baby. That way if she miscarries, she can collect the insurance funds to pay for the hospital bill.
