  1. And Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders didn't ask to get out of Dodge though Calvin Johnson says he did 5 years after the fact. Calvin Johnson announced his retirement at the start of free agency. The Lions didn't usher Calvin or Barry out the door. The Lions wanted both players to play. One announced his retirement early in the offseason, the other broke off communication, was a no show, and didn't even have the decency to tell the team he quit. Stafford asked for a trade and probably still would have played for the team had they refused the trade. I'm not sure what the damning indictment is of the Lions that two players up and quit unexpectedly and the third asked to be traded and his request was granted.
  2. The Lions didn't usher Johnson or Sanders out the door. Both of those players quit on the Lions. Stafford asked for a trade and all reports are he would have still played for the Lions if they didn't trade him. Stafford wasn't a no show at training camp and faxed his retirement letter to a Kansas newspaper.
  3. How is it that Democrats destroyed the livelihood of so many Americans and took away their jobs and yet companies are complaining no one wants to work for them and unemployment is at record lows?
  4. He's almost 20 pounds and the size of a small dog. I prefer him to most humans.
  5. I can't imagine the look on Putin's face when he sees all the mouth breathers he manipulated to do his dirty work.
  6. We know Fox News will show Biden eating an ice cream cone instead.
  7. US is urging Americans to get out of Ukraine now. Russian invasion appears imminent and the US will not help rescue stranded Americans. You know some Americans will stay behind despite the warnings for weeks and Jake Tapper will become obsessed with it.
  8. But the Lions actually have a decent running game now so they don't need to invest high draft picks on a RB.
  9. I tried my hand at a draft simulation. I don't follow college football, so beyond a few of the big names, I have no idea who these players and relied on scouting reports in PFN. 2. Aidan Hutchinson EDGE Michigan 32. Malik Willis QB Liberty 34. Jaquan Brisker S Penn State 67. Roger McCreary CB Auburn 104. Alec Pierce WR Cincinnati 128. Erik Ezukanma WR Texas Tech 142. Zakoby McClain LB Auburn 218. Christopher Allen EDGE Alabama 232. Kana'i Mauga LB USC Made a couple trades where teams basically offered to swap draft position later in the draft only to move down a few spaces. Willis was too tempting at 32 considering most of the good receivers and LBs were off the board. I don't think I did worse than Quinn would have. I doubled up a lot of positions but oh well.
  10. Well, it's probably too late to give Trump an enema to see if he consumed it.
  11. And a shit show is what Virginia deserves.
  12. I'm guessing many of the same people who will rail against this non use of force are the same ones who support running over BLM protestors which is an actual use of force.
  13. LOL offering equipment to tow trucks away is not offering use of force.
  14. It would have been right next to Cobo Hall which was already there. It would have been built to host the Olympic games so not necessarily a multipurpose stadium unless they modified it to accommodate the Tigers. And speaking of Cincinnati, their stadium is on the river. Both of them. Same as Pittsburgh. Chicago and Cleveland also have waterfront stadiums.
  15. I would have been in favor of a riverfront stadium where Joe Louis Arena ended up being. Positioned right, the Renaissance Center would be dead center with the rest of downtown to the left and the Detroit River and Windsor to the right. I know in other proposals the fairgrounds were proposed as a stadium location. I would have preferred to Ford Field's location.
  16. Detroit made many bids for the Olympics and holds the dubios distinction for the most ever bids without ever winning the games. Detroit came close finishing runner up an 1964 and 1968. Detroit was the front runner for the 1968 games. Can't imagine how things would be different for the city. The Lions are almost guaranteed to never move to Pontiac as they would move into the new Olympic Stadium. Do the Tigers join them? Do the riots in 1967 still happen? If so, do we see unrest during the 1968 games? Anyways, here's a video Detroit submitted for the 1968 games. It appears the new stadium would have been at the fairgrounds.
  17. I suppose they could be independent contractors. I would love to see counter protestors loot their trucks.
  18. This is why the NBA is insufferable to follow. Way more divas per capita than any other sport. Harden, Durant and Irving ended up only playing 16 games together.
