  1. If we are concerned about vehicular homicide, one could support funding for public transit so fewer people would be driving cars. Strangely, I don't think Republicans will go for that.
  2. I approve. The same issues of unwanted pregnancies apply to countries outside of the US as well.
  3. The Lions do one better. They have an actual person in the booth who feeds Campbell the odds on things like that. Given the likely odds the Lions could get one more score, and the fact the Lions held them to only 6 points the entire half, it seemed perfectly reasonable to try to get another possession.
  4. California is losing a congressional seat. I'm guessing Nunes was getting squeezed out.
  5. There was another shooting at a hospital in Lake Orion, which is close to Oxford, and local businesses are/were on lockdown. Looks like one person shot.
  6. We can't have this conversation until he can properly identify the specific car including make, model, year, engine size and transmission and in the exact terminology.
  7. How much did those odds increase? Where is the data? How many extra plays did Minnesota gain from that timeout? 1? How much did the odds increase that the Lions would score before the end of the half? I'm totally blown away that the concept of stopping the clock before halftime in order to secure an extra possession is so radical and terrible. Not only that, it worked and was the difference in the game. This has to be some sort of derrangement syndrome.
  8. This is my congressman. Glad we're on the same page.
  9. He may be on to something. What if we call the kids who were killed at Oxford aborted children? Instead of saying they were killed, say they were aborted. Maybe that will change the narrative.
  10. This is also not the party of Reagan anymore.
  11. I disagree. I think the Republicans would have used it to encourage more gun ownership. They could use that as an excuse to need more guns to defend themselves.
  12. Four middle class white kids were just killed in Oxford and it isn't going to change anything, just like a dozen or so middle class white kids in Colorado and Connecticut.
  13. At least Republicans want to force more single women to have babies.
  14. Picking 2nd or 3rd may be preferable as it may take the decision out of Holmes hands on whether to draft Hutchinson or Thibodeaux.
  15. Aren't there drugs in Canada? Why does Chicago have about 10 times as many murders as Toronto?
  16. It provides at least some sort of analysis to clock management than just fans ranting that Campbell is horrible at clock management.
  17. I thought the black middle class neighborhood was on the west side near Russell Woods and Woodbridge? There was also Conant Gardens but I find it hard to believe a one mile stretch of freeway set back the entire race of the 4th largest city in the country at the time for decades to come.
  18. I wouldn't return my business to a place where it was looted and burned down.
  19. Detroit had a black mayor by 1974 when it was still well over 1 million people and still a viable city. I'm not sure what the racial makeup of the council was. We go back to the city income tax when many cities have a city income tax. In fact, over 20 cities alone in Michigan have an income tax. Detroit is pretty low tax, relatively speaking, among most major cities. The black middle class you mentioned even left for whiter pastures when they started moving to Southfield and Oak Park.
  20. I've posted it before. It's as of week 9.
  21. Clock management is like a buzzword. The double timeout thing was bad, but by and large the clock management has been good. There has even been a study done this year, prior to the double timeout, that showed Campbell was one of the best at managing timeouts.
  22. Despite the high homicide totals in Chicago, Illinois only ranks 34th in murder rate. Indiana averages about 4 more murders per 100k than Illinois.
  23. McVay gives me some Patricia vibes. If the Rams don't win a playoff game, does he throw Stafford under the bus? Those two have high expectations and I have to imagine McVay's seat will heat up if they don't win a playoff game.
