  1. I'm not sure there is much to make of it. State elections are weird. Massachusetts, Maryland, and Vermont have Republican governors while Louisiana, Kansas and Kentucky have Democratic governors. Montana recently went 16 straight years with a Democratic governor. Democrats did well in California and the New Mexico special election so who knows.
  2. Chris Christie defeated the incumbent Democratic governor in 2009 after Obama won New Jersey by 16 points.
  3. A Democrat hasn't won re-election in New Jersey in 40 years. Murphy being re-elected was pretty unlikely if you follow historical trends.
  4. Looking like a good day for Lions draft picks.
  5. Stafford with one of the worst decisions I've seen him make.
  6. So Jacksonville beat Buffalo. Now have a 2 game lead on the Lions for the #1 pick. Miami is leading Houston which is good for Detroit because we will then want Houston to beat Jacksonville.
  7. So Jacksonville may actually win this. This would be huge for the Lions.
  8. I wonder if the Packers offensive line did their research and found that pass blocking doesn't actually protect the QB?
  9. I feel bad for people named Brandon and Karen.
  10. So the whole squad plus Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman voted against the bill. I expect they won't be promoting the benefits of the bill to their constituents.
  11. Especially when Donald Trump campaigned on it in 2016.
  12. Empty shelves from Europe even.
  13. Yeah apparently the earlier reporting was inaccurate. In this case, it makes no sense to claim him.
  14. The way I saw it written, the team claiming him would assume his contract. Cleveland converted his salary to a signing bonus so the team claiming him this year would only need to pay him the minimum. He's under team control through 2023. If the Lions kept him, he would count $15 million against the cap but they could always cut him without incurring a dead cap hit because that salary is no longer guaranteed. The only downside I see is that he does report and becomes a locker room cancer.
  15. Even if he does, the Lions could trade him in the offseason. Cleveland restructured his contract so there is no cap issue. They could pick him up and possibly get a free 6th round pick or something. I'm kind of liking the thought of claiming him.
  16. The Lions released Tyrell Williams and Cleveland released OBJ. Apparently Cleveland restructured his contract to where there would be minimal cap hit and the team claiming him could release him without cap hit. John Dorsey originally traded for him in Cleveland. The Lions are first in waiver priority and desperately need a receiver. Things appear to be lining up.
  17. I thought the 2018 midterm polls were accurate and the Virginia poll was fairly accurate. I still think the polls are not accurately capturing white working class. I look at Michigan and Minnesota in 2020. Biden averaged a 7 point lead in both. Biden won Minnesota by 7. He only won Michigan by 3. Michigan has a higher uneducated white working class while Minnesota has a higher college educated white population. It seemed like states that had the higher white educated population had more accurate polls.
  18. Just treat the anti-vaxx people like dogs and hide the pill in a piece of bologna.
  19. Here's what you get to look forward to Virginia. Can't say I feel sorry for you.
