  1. No one good is going to want to work for a team that will fire you after a year.
  2. I believe they are looking at the clock in the stadium. So when that clock hits zero, they are supposed to then look at the ball and see if it's snapped.
  3. I don't know what the rule book officially states, but refs are supposed to watch the clock, and when it hits zero, then look to see if the ball has been snapped. There is a delay between hitting zero and snapping the ball that is built in.
  4. I remember Rod Wood said once when he became team President that he lobbied the league to finish the season at home because they kept finishing at Green Bay. Since then, the Lions have finished most seasons at home.
  5. They signed him to an extension after one year, and then fired him a year later. This is even worse than the same old Lions era.
  6. They just hired him in 2023. Who will want that job? Giving Dave Teppert a run for his money.
  7. Vikings fans aren't taking this well. The best line I've read is that Kevin O'Connell is the Kirk Cousins of head coaches and that may be the most accurate thing a Vikings fan has ever said.
  8. You will have to rip the Bears out of Virginia McCaskey's cold dead hands. Literally.
  9. It's surreal to step back and reflect on how awful the history of the Lions has been and realize they have become only the 9th team in league history to win 15 or more games in a season.
  10. Jets probably don't have better options. Nobody will want to coach there.
  11. Football-reference. If you scroll down their box score, they have a section specifically for snap counts. Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions - January 5th, 2025 | Pro-Football-Reference.com
  12. Campbell is usually conservative in bringing players back from injury. If Hutchinson's leg is fully healed, I think he plays.
  13. At least for the Vikings, $2 million probably buys a lot more tickets at Sofi.
  14. It's really funny since the Vikings have excellent check down options in Jones and Hockenson.
  15. I think teams were waiting for the "real" Darnold to show up, and we may have just seen it. It would be hard for me to commit to Darnold for a top of the market contract. I would franchise him, and if he repeats what he did this year, then I would give him a big contract. His full body of work includes all the years before Minnesota.
  16. He looked every bit like the Goff we were told we were getting from the Rams. Darnold probably cost himself millions. If he lays another egg against the Rams, he may be looking at a smaller Geno Smith type deal.
  17. The Lions were organization building a winning culture which was important in year one. A lot of people felt the Lions blew their chance to draft Hutchinson by winning a meaningless game. They ended up being to do both, draft Hutchinson and build a winning culture.
  18. Things aren’t going well in Jacksonville.
  19. I keep thinking about how in 2021 the Lions won a "meaningless" game against Green Bay at the end of the season that knocked them out of the #1 overall pick and gave it to Jacksonville. The Lions should have lost for the better pick. That is why the Jaguars are a poverty franchise and have gone through two coaches since.
