  1. The Tigers are currently on pace to finish 36-126. This would put them 126 games behind Tampa, who is on pace to go 162-0.
  2. One of the guys should stash some weed in Wingenters bag before going through customs.
  3. I would agree. We all can see the risks of such a move as we are sitting here with the Rams pick at #6
  4. Anyone that truly believes in this team should have no problem throwing in next years #1 to help move up this year.
  5. Valenti brought up a great point yesterday. Look at the state of the NFC right now. It’s Philly and SF as the consensus 1-2. Who’s next? It’s probably the Lions. Maybe Dallas could be argued but even so that puts the Lions at no worse than 4th choice entering the season to make the Super Bowl. They have a tremendous opportunity in front of them this season and need to use both of these picks on players that can make some type of impact right now. They can’t afford to take any QB at 6 or 18 that would be for down the road They need the help now to maximize this opportunity.
  6. Hooker makes no sense to me if he’s unable to do anything until well after season starts. It’s a big waste of a crucial development year. It would seem like a better idea to punt and draft a project QB next year when the draft is so much stronger at the position.
  7. Harris was very clear with his philosophy to build a winning roster. 1) Acquire and retain young players 2) Create a culture of development 3) The key to everything are batters and pitchers that dominate the strike zone. When it comes to the 3rd and most important part, it’s been apparent in the past and is glaringly so at the moment that the cupboard is nearly bare with this type of player. They may need to overhaul 75% of the 40 man to acquire the talent that fits this model. We are talking multiple drafts along with many fliers on lower level major and minor league free agents and trades to restock the entire organization. This could take a while to get right again. I do like that Harris has a philosophy that he wants to build on that makes sense in modern baseball. It’s ugly now and things may get even worse before they get better but I like the person they have steering the ship.
  8. Not sure why everyone is freaking out right now. Baseball savant Craig Monroe watches BP everyday and is still confident this club can win 90 games.
  9. MCS, Go to the liquor store and buy a lottery ticket.
  10. Longstaff and Keefe and white dudes from New England. If neither even get an interview then maybe JE3’s scoop is real.
  11. This is just fucking stupid.
  12. Agree you can find nice suburbs to live anywhere, but I don’t think they are the same all over. As get further West in places like Texas, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, and California, the suburbs are generally a little different than the Midwest and East. They are newer, more cookie cutter residential communities built around a commerce area with the Target, Costco, and Home Depot and never ending modern strip malls. Move along 5 miles and there’s another new city with the same footprint. Not much differentiating between one place an another. That newer infrastructure usually means less undeveloped areas with natural woods and parks mixed in with residential tracts.
  13. Definitely agree if you like urban living in the city. No comparison between Chicago and Detroit. If you are a burbs person, there’s not that much difference between the two places. Probably better here if you are an outdoors person that likes boat, ski, fish, or hunt.
  14. You are missing out on the best follow on Twitter.
  15. Joey is a bullpen guy. Time for this starting thing to end
  16. I am very, very familiar with anxiety and it’s serious nature. Being in a team environment where people count on your performance isn’t conducive with an unpredictable condition like anxiety. Millions of Americans find a way to manage their episodes without the luxury of being able to walk away from their work responsibilities. If Austin Meadows is unable to figure out how to control his episodes then he may need to find a different career outside professional baseball. It’s a tough spot to be in for sure.
  17. Clawbacks happen all of the time in business and I’ve yet to see anyone that wasn’t pissed off when having to write the check back.
  18. Maybe this is a generational thing. I don’t blame Barry & Calvin for flipping the bird at WCF and the god forsaken franchise that he built. It’s not liked they demanded a trade and insisted to go somewhere else, they were just done after spending a decade here and it destroyed their will to want to keep playing pro football.
  19. In fairness, they could’ve gifted him the money back in the day but instead chose to ask for it back. There was no problem had they done that as other teams had done. That’s why the situation exists in the first place. He did technically retire due to injuries even if he probably could have still played. They still can pay him now but need to sign him up to some bs promotional contract where they pay him large sums of money for not a lot of work. He seemed to be against this a few years back thinking that they should just pay him without him doing anything. That was his misunderstanding of the rules and that option doesn’t exist to just pay him. It seems like now he’s figured out they can use a workaround to make him whole.
  20. He’s a great foundation piece at a valuable position. They have a great opportunity next year to go after a QB in what appears to be a much stronger and deeper QB draft. I think more teams should be thinking this way rather than fawning over this very average group of QB’s.
  21. As I said a few weeks back, it made no sense for the titans not to extend him.
  22. We’ll need that for those slow days in May and June after the draft and before training camp
