This is code for he drank too much.

He’s old and white so he’s not even on the Pistons radar.

Absolutely worth it. I think the ideal plan should be to get 4 years and maybe even the option out of Gibbs and then move on from him and draft his replacement in the 1st or 2nd round.
-
Regarding RB, I think it’s mainly a combo of shelf life along with the desire for a committee of situational specialists for things like 3rd down or short yardage. LB probably has more to do with the increase in nickel and dime sets to combat the increased athleticism of the modern TE and pass catching RB. It has brought more emphasis of keeping a box safety or nickel on the field for pass coverage and limited that 3 down LB in many cases.

My take is the talent on this roster has evolved to the point that most of those 5th -7th round guys weren’t going to make the team. If they had 4 or 5 picks there, maybe only 1 of them would make the final roster. After already picking 5 guys in the first 3 rounds, I had no issue packaging 3 picks to move up to get a guy they really like that will definitely make the roster. I think it was actually another brilliant chess move from Holmes to make that seemingly unbalanced trade.

I have a hazy memory of seeing Squeeze at the State probably back in 88 or 89.

Did you happen to catch the early days of Bare Naked Ladies? I played the heck out of Gordon back in the day.

This is pretty much my thought. The decision will depend mainly on Goff. It’s his job to take.
-
I’m not sure the market for Goff is there outside Detroit. He has value here but do other teams see him as more of a game manager. Valenti just compared it to the Daniel Jones situation at NYG. They were probably the only team that would’ve given him a $45M contract but it worked out best for both sides to do that now. I do think that if Goff has another great season , he will be valued as top echelon QB across the league. He would most likely be getting a huge extension from the Lions in that case. As of now, Hooker is a nothing more than a 3rd round insurance plan. However, once he gets healthy and starts slinging it around at practice and making ooh and ahh throws on a regular basis that could change the thinking and the cloud the Lions future decision.

The thing I find the most confusing about Canadian culture is their near universal love for The Tragically Hip.

Maybe it sounded like a good idea after a few puffs but think this one over some more. You’re not a Leafs fan. Don’t do it.

Teams found out that none of his teammates came to AT Perry’s birthday party.

Rams front office has fallen so far since Brad left they can’t even get their webcam to focus properly.

Hooker is a pocket QB
-
Remember that time when MichiganCardinal said Henson Hooker was better than Joe Burrow.
-
I feel worse for Hooker than Goff. There are better places for him to go with a clearer path to the starting job.
-
Nothing has changed with Goff. They weren’t extending now either way. If he plays well next season they will give him $50M a year. Hooker is a cheap insurance policy.
-
Goff just unfollowed Shiela on Instagram and removed all Lions stuff from his profile.

What’s not to like about Branch. Great pick. Also the first guy with a low RAS that they’ve taken.
-
Probably a good thing. TJ’s athleticism trying stupid stuff to extend plays landed him on season ending IR twice.
-
It sounds identical to TJ. So athletic and was also a really good blocker. None of which showed up on Sundays.

I don’t mind them going TE. I don’t like this player. I am also not a fan of them grading LaPorta ahead of Washington, Musgrave, and Mayer.
-
No. I don’t question Brad Holmes picks. He earned that from me after the last 2 drafts. Personally, I’d never draft a RB in the first anymore. As for pick 18, It’s one thing for someone to say they didn’t like Campbell or he wasnt a fit for the Lions. I don’t agree but that’s something to debate. I don’t quite understand the I like the player but they could’ve waited to draft him. What were the Lions supposed to do at 18? Were they supposed to take another player that was lower on the board. Should they have just passed their turn until later in the round. Those both seem like silly options. I guess they could’ve looked to trade back but It takes two to trade so that’s not always an option. You’ve got to trust your scouts and stay true to the board.
-
Campbell was the top player on their board at by a wide margin at 18. Are you saying they should’ve ignored their dozens of scouts and their months of work to take someone else? If that’s the case, they should just fire their scouting staff and use the consensus mocks. That would save them a ton of money and they’d get an A grade every year from the pundits because they got top value on every pick.
