That doesn’t make sense. Players are allowed to gamble. If the league was concerned about a slippery slope, they would make it illegal to do any type of gambling.

Any moron knows why certain things that are legal are not allowed in a work environment. Obviously, drugs and alcohol are impairments. They can cause a dangerous work environment and create tremendous liability for a company. The same is true for porn, which is an easy sexual harassment liability for any organization. That’s why these things are not allowed in the office. What is the reason that online gambling on non-NFL games through a legal business entity is not allowed in the facility? There is absolutely no correlation between this activity and anything around competitiveness or the trust of the game. They aren’t betting on NFL. There aren’t bookies or other shady types that may try to compromise a player. There is no impact or perceived impact on the outcome or result of any NFL game. Honestly, these suspensions will have a bigger impact on the outcome of NFL games than anything these players bet on their apps. I’m honestly confused why this crime has such a heavy penalty for doing this at a facility, on a team plane, in the locker room hours before a game. This is 3 times the length of suspension given to guys that beat their wives. Watson got the same for 20+ sexual assault cases. Makes no sense to me why 6 games for a first offense.

Not one bit. Alcohol is a mental and physical impairment. It creates health, safety, and liability issues in the workplace. Non NFL gambling does none of these things and represents only a potential moral concern but even that connection seem hazy as online gambling has now taken a more acceptable business.

I’d agree with you if the rule is no gambling. It’s not. The rule is no gambling at the team facility. The fact the league is ok with non football gambling sometimes but not at other times or places is confusing. It’s not a morals or even an integrity of the game issue, so what is their issue really?

You can’t bet on NFL games and you can’t bet with bookies are both legitimate gambling rules that need strict enforcement and harsh punishments. This rule that you can bet on other sports on your own device but not while on NFL property is ridiculous. They need to rethink the future of all of their gambling rules especially if the NFL is going to continue to do business with the FanDuel, DraftKings, and MGM’s of the world.

There is just as much research showing that’s not true. One can twist data to support just about anything. All drafts aren’t created equal either and this appears to be a weak one at the top of the draft. Not sure how many all-pro players we will have from this top 10. I’ll be interested to follow over the coming years.

Vegas doesn’t know any better than anyone else. All this means is they’ve taken enough money the past few weeks on Stroud to go #1 that they want to spread some money around as a hedge.

It’s absolutely the best way to draft in this situation when you are starting year 1 of a potential window as a legitimate deep playoff contender. They have 2 first round picks and a boatload of draft capital. Use these picks to help fill current holes and add young rotational depth to positions of value.. Any QB would be drafted to sit the bench and have no impact for this year and next too if things go how you want this season. No chance to make the team better now. Wilson and the corners and pretty much anyone else would at least have an opportunity to help. QB at 6 is such a waste right now.

Because we are a legit contender in the weak NFC right now. That pick at 6 should be a player that can help them today anything else is wasting the chance to maximize the present opportunity.

I see a typical OSU QB. Big kid with good arm and average mobility surrounded by superstar playmakers. How much different is he than JT Barrett, Dwayne Haskins, Cardale Jones? I don’t think he’s a bad prospect but it’s hard to figure out what he does really well that will translate to having success playing on a pretty bad NFL team.
