  1. This team has put hitting on ignore
  2. Drew knows that he won’t make it past 18.
  3. All I know for sure is that he came out of shape and unable to perform to the biggest showcase of the draft. That alone could be enough for some to drop him on their board. I also know there were prior rumors about his work ethic and commitment to football. Don’t know if they are true and I didn’t put much weight into them but his workout performance would seem to back these up. Maybe it’s just an unlucky coincidence and those prior rumors were completely false. I don’t know if he felt any remorse from the accident or if he has any depression. I am not sure anyone really knows that so how do you really put any weight on it when it comes to drafting him. You got to go with the facts and he didn’t show up and show out when he needed. End of day there is too much risk here for me to spend the 6 pick on him.
  4. Nobody here knows Jalen Carter. You have no idea what he’s like, how he feels, or really anything about him. What you do know is how you would feel and your expectations of how someone should feel in this situation. It’s not the same and it’s not relevant in this case. The words “maybe”, “possibly”, “could have”, “would hope” are all littered through this discussion. What isn’t speculative is that he was out of shape and couldn’t finish basic combine drills at his all important workout. That’s all that we know for sure.
  5. He wasn’t driving the car. He was in a totally different vehicle behind the crashed car. He wasn’t even legally drunk at the time. He isn’t responsible for anyone’s death. This whole perception that he must feel guilty and completely shattered for his role in it is crap. It’s a convenient excuse for people trying to justify why he was fat and out of shape at his workout.
  6. Cmon now. This had no impact. It was a pre-arranged plea deal for a misdemeanor charge. He was never facing anything serious. The only thing he had at risk was his draft status.
  7. Thank god for the smell, otherwise I may have stepped in it. 💩
  8. Are you saying that being out of shape and having a bad workout were because he was depressed over the accident? Has a that been reported anywhere or is that an assumption on your end?
  9. Certainly not in January but I think they could’ve gotten much better players for Soto had they traded him at the deadline last year. As for Vierling and Maton, I don’t think there’s been an adequate sample size to make much of their prior stats. I’m not sure either are much more than reserve utility guys at the major league level but we will find out for sure this season.
  10. Javy’s slick glove work is the exact opposite of his approach to a two strike slider 8 inches off the plate.
  11. Jeffrey Springs is pitching a no-hitter through 6. Shep and Capt. Happy should be mentioning this after every batter.
  12. Just waiting on the biggest one now. I figure that will come in the NBA off-season.
  13. I felt pretty good about that Springs over 5.5k bet. I didn’t think he’d hit it in 2 2/3rd innings.
  14. He got great conviction.
  15. Craig “He throws every pitch with conviction. He’s committed to every throw.” Wentz walks the guy on 4 straight.
  16. They are entering the late Don Zimmer into the Rays Hall of Fame. It took a while to clean up the mess on the field after they had 3 generations of Zimmers beating the shit out of a life size Pedro Martinez piñata.
  17. It really is an overreaction. This is no worse than a 106 loss team. 😂
  18. Technically, the lap was completed under red. Alonso really got lucky with that decision and Haas just can’t buy a break.
  19. The accident wasn’t ideal judgment but that’s not really an issue for me. I’m far more concerned that he essentially skipped the combine and then used the next 2 weeks ahead of his crucial pro day workout to put on 10 pounds and not be fit enough to finish positional workouts. That’s a huge red flag that needs to be overcome and also gives credence to some of those unknown source rumors that we’ve all heard about him. Again, I’d take him at 18 but not willing to take the risk at 6.
  20. Forget the year suspension, having to manage this team is AJ’s real punishment for the Astros cheating scandal.
  21. Great job to avoid a big inning!
  22. “The cover up is worse than the crime” has always been understood and accepted when it comes to politicians getting caught abusing their power. There is nothing different with this case for that to change.
  23. The Carter situation is starting to become simple for me. He is completely off the draft board at 6. Not worth the risk that high. If he’s slips all the way down to 18, everyone else is off the board and you take him here. Worth the risk at 18, especially with this being their 2nd first round selection.
  24. If everyone ignores the troll, he will get bored again and leave in a few weeks. Any reply to his memes and links just restarts the clock again.
  25. Gonzalez was a nobody a little over a year ago. He had just transferred to Oregon after being the 2nd best corner on a no good Colorado team. He is a natural safety that came later to being a CB. He had one real good season with the Ducks and an impressive combine and here we are. I’m not saying he’s going to be a bust but I don’t see a guy that you plug in from day 1 and has a good chance of being your starter for the next 8 years. I think he needs more time to develop than a few of the other corners.
