Week One: Detroit Lions (0-0) @ Kansas City Chiefs (0-0)

You mean we aren’t trading him for Chris Jones? Damn. -
I expect that we will start seeing more of these marquee early season games as the playoffs expand and the TV networks take over more control of the game from the NCAA.
-
It seems like just the other day that Michigan fans were the ones really upset that Harbaugh had support of his team.
-
Bummer that Cam Rising and Kuithe are both out for Utah. Not sure what we are going to see from Graham Mertz and the Gators but I’m not sure it will be good.

Awesome that you are making the trip. I have very little desire of ever attending another road Lions game in most NFL stadiums but Arrowhead is an exception. Seems a great place with decent folks that aren’t savage aholes like in Philly or SF. Have a killer trip and enjoy the BBQ and a Lions win. 42-27 Lions Like the 2017 season opener when Alex Smith led a young KC team into Gillette for a stunning victory over the defending champs on ring night. -

He started out so well early in camp but faded towards the end.

Interested to see how the organizational philosophy to not play the starters at all in the preseason works out. I personally like the call but it’s going against what most of the league is doing. I expect they come out sharp at KC and it becomes another case of Brad and Dan pressing the right button.

They should know that holding a naming contest means they should prepare for Spotty McSpotface to win.

I don’t even want to make my prediction because it makes me angry. Jordan Love is a star and is this years Jalen Hurts. GB offense is even more lethal without Rodgers. Pack go 13-4 and win the division and make the SB. Only saving grace is they lose to Baltimore. Others: Lions acquire Mike Evans from an openly tanking TB (who does go on to win the Caleb sweepstakes). Finish at 11-6 and lose a wild card game to Dallas on terrible officiating call. Ben Johnson is named coach of the newly named Washington Antelopes in the off-season. Jim Harbaugh is announced as head coach of the Seahawks but is indicted on federal tax evasion charges for doctoring his expense account receipts and never takes the job.

Trey did a bunch of 10 minute behind the scenes videos with different members of their crew on the last Phish tour. He had on the sound mix guy that sits practically on the stage and his only job is making sure each guy has what they want in their ear. Keys and bass need to hear different things than drums and lead guitar and vocal. They all have different hand signals and methods of communicating with him mid jam to adjust something or if there’s a problem. Super interesting stuff but was on his IG and won’t link here.

Have you ever heard of a game named Jenga? Shep is such an out of touch stiff. -
2023 Detroit Tigers Regular Season Discussion Thread

It depends on how much of the Cabrera money they spend in free agency. I personally don’t think they make a giant splash and have plenty of extra money in 2024. -
I get he’s the #3 QB but he’s thrown every pass today to his first option less two that he was super late checking down to the flat and couldn’t complete either. I’d honestly rather see him go through progressions and throw incompletions to an open man rather than do what he’s doing now and locking in on 1 guy and throwing it regardless. That’s not a pro QB. He’s not a viable option in any way. Ben called two great PA passes that he was able to make easy completions but you can’t have a QB that’s unable to adjust if the perfect play call isn’t made every time.
-
No, he really hasn’t. He’s been fortunate that Johnson has called the right plays against the 3rd string defense.
-
Every Nate pass is to his first option. There’s no following progressions to find an open receiver. It’s lock in where it’s going pre play and throw. If that guy is open, he gets it there about 60% of the time.

Still can’t believe it’s taken the league 7 years to figure out Nate Sudfeld is not an an NFL QB. It pays to look the part and be white. He’s like the QB version of Matt Nelson.

Someone needs to tell Devin Gardner that one foot tapped twice is not a catch. Props though as he sounded super confident that he was right when he said it.

Cleveland Guardians are my favorite squadron. -
Honestly, I don’t get it at all. It’s not bad but there’s absolutely nothing exceptional about this song. It’s very average lyrics with basic guitar and a guy singing loudly to make his vocal sound more impressive than it really is. There are thousands of unknown musicians with original songs that are at least as good or better both on songwriting and composition.

It’s crazy to think that Jamo played only 25 total college games in 3 years and it looks like he will max out at 16 pro games in 2 years. 41 total games in 5 years of football and some of those were definitely as just a decoy. Sure, he needs to start contributing soon but he’s still just a baby in football years.

As you stated, something has gone drastically wrong if QB3 ever has to come in the game. Why bother using a roster spot on a hopeless situation. They are better off using that spot somewhere else that matters more. This is a different story is you had a young development QB that you are grooming for the future. As for the actual player, I find Sudfeld to be worse than Boyle or Blough when they were here based on his experience. The other guys were 1 to 3 year guys when they got here. This is 7 for Sudfeld and he still looks completely lost. He should be better by this point.
-
I don’t view him as a top 100 QB. I also don’t think they should carry a QB3 this year. Better roster management to have HH go on LTIR and use the QB3 space for depth and competition at a position of need. If JG or TB goes down they can go pick up a backup on the street when the time comes.
-
Sudfeld should be cut on Monday. He’s taking up a roster spot at this point. This guy is in his 7th year and he looks as out of place as a rookie throwing his first pass. There’s no reason why he still has an NFL job.
-
My thoughts too. Scrap the entire concept of divisions and come up with something new. This is a brand new world with massive conferences and the same old way of doing things won’t work.
