It’s possible to luck into a CJ Stroud but Ben also almost walked into a situation last year where his job would’ve depended on Bryce Young. I give him a ton of credit for passing up the money and title and staying with his best opportunity to succeed.

If you are going to let him make the call on the next coach, then take the no brainer route. Don’t let him lead a national search.

I heard one of the Vegas guys talking and they were getting a ton of money coming in on the Lions from their Michigan operations and sports gambling still not being legal in California played a role in less Niner money coming in.

Cousins is going to SF to be reunited with Shanahan. The Niners are going to realize on Sunday that Brock Purdy was a flash in the pan and isn’t their guy. I’d guess Washington’s first move at QB would be to offer the Bears something stupid to move up one spot and see if that can convince Ryan Poles to stick with Fields instead of Caleb Williams (who is from DC).

SF beats many teams just on the strength of their front 7. They stuff the run and destroy the pass game with their rush. They are going to win some battles but I’m confident the Lions OL won’t let them wreck the game plan and paralyze them in passing situations. SF has had to fight through some injuries in their secondary and there are matchups the Lions will be able to take advantage of in the pass game. I’d really love to see them dust off a few Jamo shots in this game even if it’s just to loosen them up. The same goes with Ben finding a way to get Gibbs matched up against one of their LB in the flat. I feel very confident in the Lions ability to start strong and to close. The game will come down how they perform to start the second half. They can’t have yet another turd quarter where the offense loses rhythm and they tread water for a quarter. That’s my biggest fear. I am also very concerned about CMC. GB did a great job against him last week but Shanahan keeps feeding his guy and he ended up breaking 2 strong TD runs. They need to stay focused as even if he’s contained, it just takes 1 play for him to pop and affect the game.

One of the great things about getting older is my complete lack of FOMO.
