Why isn’t Mel Tucker’s name at the top of the UM coaching wish list?
-
I don’t think it will be money. MSU boosters have more of it than LSU. If he leaves, it will be to get back to the SEC.
-
Walker is a complete beast. He put the offense on his back the 2nd half. How many times did he break 2 tackles and find daylight for a big play. He treated a few all big-10 LB and S like they were high schoolers.

Regardless of what happens tomorrow, Purdue is going to beat MSU next week.

Beach talks in the interview about how he became a different person after this happened. He was more difficult to be around, abused alcohol and drugs, and was a much worse individual than before the assault and the teams decision to do nothing about it. I think that damaged his chances at an NHL career more than being blackballed. Additionally, I am truly sickened that once again as was the case with Sandusky, Nassar, and Anderson, an organizations decision to quietly push away an abuser to avoid making a big story allowed that predator to continue adding new victims for years and years after it should’ve been stopped.

The first sentence wasn’t needed. I get frustrated too at the depths that the woken will try to take cancel culture but in this case JT messed up and deserved to get dragged. You have perfectly outlined what he needed to say and he did almost the exact opposite.

I see no reason why Slay won’t get a very warm welcome from Lions fans. He didn’t do anything wrong. Just another dude in a long line of dudes that Quintricia mistakenly thought the franchise would be better off without.

You’ve got to assume that Tucker will play 8 in the box and challenge UM to beat them passing. The risk here is that both Corum and Haskins have the ability to make a man miss and they are off for a long 6. Also wont be surprised to see UM try to run a handoff pitch back flea flicker and catch MSU sleeping. Neither of these teams has really been tested since the B10 has proven to be so weak so it’s possible that one or both are frauds no worth their ranking like we saw with like Iowa, Wisconsin, and Penn State. I think MSU has better skill players but UM will win this game. Harbaugh hyped up Erick All to be one of the best TE ever at UM and he’s instead been a complete nobody thus far. I think he catches 2 TD’s and is the hero. UM 27 MSU 16

Stan, I believe this country is filled with stupid people that can be easily convinced to believe just about anything

The worst thing that happened today on this forum was this post.

Goff is playing as poor as I’ve ever seen a Lion QB. No ability to avoid the rush, careless decisions where to throw, doesn’t protect the ball and fumbles easily , and absolutely no ability to look down the field. All he does is checkdown. They call PI on every other play in this league but Goff can’t even get the ball downfield to give them a chance at a cheap flag. He’s absolutely among the worst QB’s in the NFL and will most likely be out of football when his Lion contact is finished.

Championships since 1950: Detroit Lions: 3 (1952, 1953, 1957) Michigan State University: 2 (1952, 1966) University of Michigan: 1 (1997) Incredible to realize that both of these programs suck worse than the Lions.

Yes, it’s obviously created content from a TikTok influencer but still very funny.

Rams/Giants ended in Scorigami today.

Speaking of Tua. This made me laugh

Too early to tell. I like this draft class and I like quite a few of the FA signings. Not a fan of the Goff move. He sucks and the 2 picks are nice but not nearly as valuable at the bottom of the 1st round as they appeared to be over the summer.
-
They renegotiated him though which added $15m in dead cap if they cut him this off-season. I don’t think they do that unless they really had some thoughts that he could become their long term starter. I’m not sure this guy is even a good clipboard holding backup for a good team. This may be his last stop in the league.

Loved the effort today combined with the Jags win. This is setting up very nicely for the Lions. The most disappointing part of the weekend was Liberty losing to a 32 point underdog and Willis throwing 3 more Ints. That was more concerning to me than anything Goff did today. On the subject of Goff, he’s a total stiff and shame on anyone for thinking they were smarter at evaluating QB talent than Sean McVey. He knew exactly what he had and he passed his trash onto Holmes. Brad should’ve know better. The only thing Goff does well is cash paychecks and he’s all-pro at doing that.

Derek!

The tears didn’t do anything for me either good or bad. I am over caring about the style and personality of the head coach. I just want to start seeing results of the team getting better. I’m liking that despite being one of the least talented in the league and also riddled with key injuries this team has somehow managed to be in every game they’ve played. Green Bay is the only one where that didn’t come down to last possession. I’m still not sure how this has happened but the coaching adjustments and preparation appears much better than it’s been in the past.
-
I don’t see it as a stretch of this team being competitive next year at 7 or 8 wins and then moving into playoff and maybe even division champ in 2 years. Holmes has work to do but I’m liking what I’m seeing to this point.
-
I expect the Eagles will most likely use those picks to trade for Deshaun Watson.

Not sure if this goes here or the draft thread but I believe that come spring, the best player available in the draft will be Malik Willis. I don’t think it will be particularly close either. I also believe he will be viewed as a better NFL prospect than any of the 2023 draft eligible QBs.
