Plus, he's likely going to the Dodgers or Yankees, or another team with no regard for the luxury tax, or any other similar implications that will be placed on teams coming out of this CBA. I'm good with another reclamation project to complete with Tyler Alexander and Joey Wentz. Or go and get Verlander if he truly didn't sign his contract.

Perhaps, but this might be his best and only window to show what he can do at the ML level. Once Tork comes up, I think the starting infield will be Tork, Schoop, Baez and Candy. Not a lot of AB’s will be available in the infield.

Paredes is still younger than both Tork and Clemens. Maybe that’s not super important, but at 22, I suspect they aren’t ready to give up on him. His low K, high BB % make him a bit of a rarity.

I think Paredes is playing 2B, if Tork doesn’t make the team out of ST.

Agree on all fronts. After signing Baez, it will be interesting to see if they spend anything else this offseason.

Our lineup next season, once Greene and Tork join, is going to K a lot, but the power will be fun. 1. Grossman 2. Greene 3. Candelario 4. Cabrera 5. Schoop 6. Baez 7. Torkelson 8. Barnhart 9. Hill/Cameron/Baddoo

Stroman and Rodan are still out there, but I don’t see us out bidding the Dodgers, Yankees or Mets, all who have a need for SP.

The Schoop signing at $7.5M is now looking like a real bargain over the next two seasons. A lot of power, good glove and lack of plate discipline for our new double play combo.

Baez turns 29 this week, so this deal would take him to age 35.
