If you recall, the late 70’s/early 80’s teams had tons of LH hitters—Staub, Thompson, Summers, Kemp, Hebner, Gibby. Probably forgetting others. Morales didn’t really do anything as a Tiger, but I believe that trade also netted us Senor Smoke, so losing Bob Sykes was worth it. Interestingly, Morales was in town a few weeks back for a card signing. I didn’t think he’d have much appeal.

I would prefer he stays, but I actually think his market will be strong if he can pitch close to how he has once he returns from his injury.

We’ll also be saving close to $20M when Eduardo opts out.

As a reminder, nobody in this organization is one of Harris’ guys. He didn’t draft any of them and holds no attachment. We could see some surprises at the deadline.

If he keeps this up, hopefully we’ll get to see him in July or August. However, if Greene and Baddoo can come back relatively soon, there won’t be a lot of AB’s to go around in the outfield.

His OPS would be top 3 on this team. I would have preferred him over Nevin. Maybe a 40 man issue? We already have a crunch coming with Manning and Skubal’s imminent return from the 60-day DL.

I tend to agree with this.

Nevin? Really no improvement and he’s not a prospect or future contributor.
