This is clearly a team that gets exposed when playing good teams, but can more than handle its own against comparable ones.

Quit thinking playoffs or contending. This is about surviving the balance of the season (again).

I think the correct and appropriate action is to treat this like a physical injury. And demonstrate some empathy and understanding. No one truly knows what he is going through, and I suspect more players will come forward as mental health issues become increasingly prevalent. As stated, his presence on the roster does not adversely impact the organization. He should not be discarded.

Hadn’t seen that. That was a miss by Harris, unless Chafin left out that he wanted a no-trade in his deal, which would diminish his ultimate value to the Tigers.

I’m not even concerned with winning—someone has to cover his innings. Probably a moot point—I suspect we’ll get possibly all 4 of the guys I listed back. Of course, with our luck, Lorenzen will go down with an injury in July. I do hope we’re in a position to be active at the deadline with tradable assets that are coveted by other teams—interested in seeing how Harris and Co. approach it.

If we don’t get at least two of Skubal, Manning, Turnbull and ERod back, we might not have the luxury of trading Lorenzen. No depth at Toledo, as we’ve already stretched that.
