Is this good?

Lee and McGonigle will be knocking on the door next season. Combined with Keith and Jung in the middle infielder mix, I don’t see them extending Torres. Both player and team entered into this with the idea that it would be for one season. Could change, but I doubt it. He’s only willing to play one position, which limits his flexibility and is not the type of profile Harris and Hinch love.

The extent of my reading comprehension and information is fully formed here. Just hope none of you put up a paywall on your significant insights.

I don’t see the Tigers blocking a path for all of the middle infielders coming. And they are going to start having to do what the Lions have—pay their own players. Skubal being the obvious, but at some point you’ll want to lock up Greene, Carp, maybe, Tork. Our payroll could soon climb.

You’re comparing apples to oranges, a bit. An apt comparison would be Jason and Andy and both of those guys would be all over this like a bum on a ham sandwich.

Don’t know the roster implications, but even when he’s ready I think he stays in Toledo until we have a need for a starter. Cobb is the wildcard in a lot of this—I’m sure he’ll be in the rotation when ready. If no openings, I think they’ll eventually move Jobe into a relief role to limit his innings this season. Probably a 3 inning guy, RH version of Hurter.

He would be living up to his name if that happens.

Poor management or is Denver a bad location for baseball, or a combination of both? Always remember Smokey retiring mid season when he managed there, basically surrendering.

Skubal is a star. More impactful than any pitcher on the ‘84 and ‘06 WS squads. Greene is borderline—still only 24, so still projectable and could be at least a top 5-10 AL outfielder. Meadows has the potential—was on that trajectory when he came back from Toledo last season. Created havoc on the base paths, elite defense and 20 HR/60 extra bases upside. Comparing to the ‘84 squad, here’s my unscientific comparison: Dingler/Rogers < Parrish Tork > Evans/Bergman Torres < Whitaker Sweeney < Trammell Baez/McKinstry = Brookens/HoJo Greene > Herndon Meadows < Lemon Carpenter/Vierling = Gibby Skubal > Morris Mize > Petry Flaherty > Wilcox Olsen > Berenguer Kahnle = Lopez Vest < Hernandez Basically, current rotation better than ‘84 squad, perhaps the pen, too. Think it’s the opposite for the position players, in general.
