    Think the same rules apply—they would need to keep him on the ML roster all season. Definitely easier for either to pull that off. I’d like to get him back.

    Neither will he ready this season and Briceno is probably moving to 1B/DH. Liranzo could push Rogers out in ‘26 or ‘27.

    Totally agree with this. The announcer doesn’t need to be overly entertaining for me. Mario had that down—it was never about him. I get that Benetti might have appeal in bringing in more/younger fans, but I don’t need that in a baseball broadcast. Having said that, I’m thankful daily that he’s not Shep.

    I have to respectfully disagree. I think he’s tolerable because they are winning. On a losing team, I suspect his act would get old quick. Give me Mario any day.

    Well stated. Pedigree talent and a roster with some 1st and 2nd rounders. We were impatient and probably cynical about anything Avila touched. Now we have a young and talented group who are very likable and fun to watch.

    An accurate throw would have nailed Carp—it easily beat him, but was up the line. Agree it’s worth the chance. And then Riley with a soft ground ball to 2B to end the rally.
