  1. Yep. Finally gonna see some prospects dealt for established players.
  2. Gonna be lucky to finish 5 IP tonight.
  3. What’s up with Mize? Please get the ball down next inning.
  4. Next season would be shot either way, so might be worth waiting.
  5. Don’t know the roster implications, but even when he’s ready I think he stays in Toledo until we have a need for a starter. Cobb is the wildcard in a lot of this—I’m sure he’ll be in the rotation when ready. If no openings, I think they’ll eventually move Jobe into a relief role to limit his innings this season. Probably a 3 inning guy, RH version of Hurter.
  6. He would be living up to his name if that happens.
  7. And Rooftop Jones. And Barbaro Garbey. Great role players.
  8. Poor management or is Denver a bad location for baseball, or a combination of both? Always remember Smokey retiring mid season when he managed there, basically surrendering.
  9. Skubal is a star. More impactful than any pitcher on the ‘84 and ‘06 WS squads. Greene is borderline—still only 24, so still projectable and could be at least a top 5-10 AL outfielder. Meadows has the potential—was on that trajectory when he came back from Toledo last season. Created havoc on the base paths, elite defense and 20 HR/60 extra bases upside. Comparing to the ‘84 squad, here’s my unscientific comparison: Dingler/Rogers < Parrish Tork > Evans/Bergman Torres < Whitaker Sweeney < Trammell Baez/McKinstry = Brookens/HoJo Greene > Herndon Meadows < Lemon Carpenter/Vierling = Gibby Skubal > Morris Mize > Petry Flaherty > Wilcox Olsen > Berenguer Kahnle = Lopez Vest < Hernandez Basically, current rotation better than ‘84 squad, perhaps the pen, too. Think it’s the opposite for the position players, in general.
  10. Probably having a positive impact. The guy takes a lot of pitches and doesn’t seem to get fooled much. Especially earlier in the season, I felt like the top of our lineup was skilled at running up pitch counts for the opposing starters. And if you have guys being more patient to take a walk or wait for their pitch, you end up with more base runners, which only helps the subsequent batters in the lineup. Miggy always said that VMart provided him with protection which led to him seeing better pitches to hit.
  11. Who knew? He likely will come back to earth. Would have been nice to have him as depth in Toledo, but he would only have received a shot with an injury, and only as interim.
  12. Why let Webb go 103 pitches when you’re down by 3? Must really need to preserve the pen.
  13. Webb is literally the definition of hit or miss. When he’s not carving up Tigers, they are getting’ their hits. Odd outing.
  14. Might reduce the chance that he opts out—he was likely counting on a full season of production playing in Fenway. Would be great if Devers refuses to go back to 3B now.
  15. Great X account, if you’re not already following
  16. Max Anderson still raking. As a 1B/2B, he’s a bit buried on the depth chart. Likely trade candidate for relief upgrade?
  17. Pacheco is only 22. Not unusual for minor leaguers to develop on slower timelines. Parker Meadows spent a considerable amount of time in West Michigan. He still K’s too much, which might catch up to him as he advances, but he was also a highly regarded 2nd rounder out of high school. Also, like Meadows.
