  1. Watching this exchange between our new friend, Greg, and the rest of you feels very Moneyball-like: “Dave Dombrowski on line 1” I just hope you guys can work something out tonight.
  2. Some of us have become pirates, though in truth…
  3. I think Jung replaces Urshela (next season).
  4. Unless you’re new to the Forum, you should know that I’m exceptionally ill-informed on all matters, though that never prevents me from sharing my opinions, sometimes stated as factual. However, he’s lights out in Erie—if he can stay healthy and log some innings, I’d really be surprised if he didn’t make the big squad.
  5. He’ll be on the ‘25 Tigers opening day roster, barring injury or service time shenanigans. Hell be ready (if he isn’t already).
  6. I’d hold on to Ibanez and Vierling. Both are good contributors and likely wouldn’t command much in return. Ibanez is who he is—plus bat against LH pitching and provided defensive versatility. I still think Vierling can get better. I’ll trust that he is monitoring the opportunities with Flaherty and Kelly, though he’s not forced to move either at the deadline. This is different than the ERod situation.
  7. I’ll bet Greene and maybe Flaherty get in, too. Seems like there is always a lot of roster turnover leading up to the game.
  8. Buyers? 🤣
  9. If you knew you could sign Kelly for a few more years, you’d be emboldened to move Jake, perhaps as a trade sweetener, with Dingler replacing him.
  10. Wingeter was like Fetch—the Tigers kept trying to make it happen.
  11. Probably the best account on Twitter for those who Tweet
  12. Closing in on .800 OPS. Great first full season so far.
  13. Don’t think it will happen, but would be nice to see Jobe pitch in the bigs this year. Would probably take multiple injuries for that to happen. With his time off, he shouldn’t be on any innings limit.
  14. If Parker is right, he does change the game with his speed and defense. Hope we get this version.
  15. Enjoy the Cherry Festival!
  16. Maeda’s salary is not that ridiculous that it would prevent him from being waived. Unfortunately, we need the innings, unless they start stretching out one or more of Wentz, Faedo and Brieske. its too bad that none of Hurter, Flores or Madden has distinguished themselves in Toledo.
  17. One more reason for me to detest Del Baker
  18. I submit Champ Summers for your consideration. Albeit in a part-time role, his ‘79/‘80 seasons with us were phenomenal. More walks than K’s and an OPS over 1000 in 1979.
  19. We’re down two SP (Mize and Flaherty) and Manning has been inconsistent at Toledo. As mentioned, we’re going to see Maeda every 5 days, as long as he’s healthy.
  20. I like the idea of trading for Bichette, if the Jays are serious about moving his contract. Dude is only 26.
  21. For me, the positions that I think they should go outside to upgrade are 1B and SS. Realize Baez is under contract, but they’ll have to move on if they want to be a playoff contender in 2025 or 2026. I don’t think they will, though, and will ride Baez until McGonigle is ready. In reality, any improvement is going to need to come from our young hitters being able to adjust to the bigs. We’re not signing or trading for 5-6 bats.
  22. How great would it be if he could get another single?!?
