  1. True we would have to be the last chair in musical chairs.
  2. I think last years negotiating period being shorter his market didn't have the time to build momentum like it can this year but that could be meaningless and you make a great point with Houston winning without him.
  3. Verlander with his second ring and goes home to Kate Upton. Not too bad.
  4. Last years free agency for Correa was messed up with the shutdown. He wanted 10 / 350 to beat Linder as the board has noted. He got 35 to defer to another year so he’s still looking for the remaining 9/ 315 and will probably start with 10/ 350 to get that. If Detroit wants Correa they have to have minimum 9/315 in their pocket AND wait late in the market to present it. Like spring training is starting next week late. Too early and Boras will shop it for better and get better. Having Baez allows us to wait in the blind and strike late.
  5. So based on some recent reading it seems Arizona and Milwaukee both need bullpen arms this off season. Since this is our only position of depth Do they have any players we need and can obtain for our relievers ?
  6. Signing Correa certainly fits the "we have to take risks to catch up" category that Harris spoke about.
  7. Why did they take Javier out ?
  8. Best bullpen arm gone but we might get him back.
  9. Scott Harris's decision on Jeimer will be telling. I hope he is resourceful enough to present a better option.
  10. I think catcher is priority number one. Trade for someone solid defensively and can hit at lest some. Better to have consistency behind the plate for our pitchers. Good teams have that. 68 Feehan 84 Parrish etc. Houston has Malandano. St Lou Molina. Great Yankee teams Posada. it’s really important. Musical chairs 🪑 won’t cut it. Someone here showed Haase can’t catch Langes curveball so he can’t catch good stuff.
  11. And one not so good inning for JV
  12. It seems developing player’s requires patience especially for hitters. Pitchers arms might have a shelf life so promoting them faster is valid. But hitting takes longer. I think Tork Greene and Kriedler were all rushed especially considering the lost time to Covid. I think that will change under Harris.
  13. I don't think so but Cohen has the most $$$
  14. I think the NY clubs have a mafia like "understanding" not to raid each others players but I could be wrong.
  15. Agreed and it will be 400 million
  16. C- Christian Vasquez 2/yr free agent signing 2B- Johnathon Schoop - under contract and plays good defense. Hope for rebound. LF - Jason Dominquez - part of your idea ( trade Jackson Jobe / Haase / Soto / Lange for Dominquez, Donaldson, Peraza and Hicks)Frees up $$$ for NY to sign Judge and we move Baez to 2B in 2024 if Peraza sticks. 3B- Josh Donaldson - Your idea
  17. I am not in big on trying to "fix" players nor "place holding" for minor leaguers in hope they actually can play at the MLB level. So I don't want to fix Candy nor wait for Colt "don't call me Keith" Colt or Kreidler. These kids have to force their way on the team and replace someone or Scott Harris, ala DD, can promote their "potential" and trade for established talent. We could have gotten lots of talent for Tork before he came up. Thats a calculated risk. Not saying we should have done that but we should always consider that option. A player has their highest values at two points, when they are highly rated minor leaguers and after performing well at the MLB level. I want talent not fixes so yes I am moving on from Candy and the 7 million DOES mean something when invested with other $$ for more certain MLB talent. Not saying I am correct but it's how I proceed.
  18. Yes and point well made but which is he is the question and he and the team was beyond terrible last year so I vote for a fresh look knowing it might be the wrong decision verses retaining him and knowing it could also be the wrong decision.
  19. Not my $$ but I'm not paying 7 million for the following even for the poor fielding and plodding base running AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB HBP SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 429 49 93 19 2 13 50 28 6 109 0 1 .217 .272 .361 .633
  20. If the Giants want to keep up with LA and now SD then yes Judge is the best place to start.
  21. So Harper hits 2 run homer in 8th for lead and eventual winner and series clincher while Hader stand in the bullpen. Bob “Buck” Melvin. Unreal how fixated they are on roles. The whole series was this inning with the teeth of the order up.
  22. Will there be a larger rule 5 class this year because there wasn't one last year ? Is that possible ? If so maybe a third baseman in that bunch. There is solid logic in bringing him back given the limited MLB options and Kreidler belongs in AAA to start 2023 BUT if he does play much better than 2022 do we really want to commit a free agent multiple year $$ contract to him for 2024 ? I think not so might as well start dealing with 3B now. Maybe we hit on a rule 5 or low cost free agent and by mid year Kreidler or someone emerges. In general I vote to move on from the current cast of characters.
  23. Our roster looks really thin. Even on the list of keepers from Casimir there is real fodder. I think G2 was actually serious or acurate when he said we have 8 guys that matter.
  24. Looking like Philly v Astros in the Series. Or DD/Nick v Verlander. Hitting verses pitching. Houston seems better but Philly seems to be riding the hot streak.
  25. Verlander might get 2/60 in Houston or LA Maybe we can get him in 2025
