  1. Could they be thinking Schoop or Hernandez ? Probably not considering the $ but it is a sunk cost. I still think Carpenter and Badoo both go north. Which is why I think Kreidler will also stick since he's most versatile and Verling can play first and third in a pinch. I mean how many left-handed starters are there anyways ? Plus Miggy will play very sparingly so DH is open 5 days a week. And what right handed outfielder do we have that is so important playing two days a week that presents a premium over both Badoo and Carpenter in the lineup 5 days a week ?
  2. Verling because he will for sure be on the team and we all need to know more about him.
  3. I think Carpenter and Badoo both go north. Haase Rodgers Tork Schoop Baez Maton Miggy Meadows Greene Verling Badoo Carpenter Kriedler 2 catchers 6 infielder 8 outfielder with many counting for multiple positions except Miggy the Mascot
  4. All good ideas. I think they might just adjust the time to 10- 12 seconds for the batter and 20 for the pitcher for all situations. Overall I like it but it seems just a bit rushed.
  5. Yes I also have friends and family in Taiwan who love Ohtani and of course my Japanese customers are going Banzai today. I am lucky that both he and Trout are only a short drive for me to see. Great tournament.
  6. And as of now Ohtani has passed Trout as the games best player. Not surprised Japan won given their balance of pitching-hitting- fielding. I really enjoyed that tournament and hope the Tigers can soon play meaningful games.
  7. Happily yes. Now I can turn my full concentration of worry to Austin Meadows 🙂
  8. Please please do not draft a pitcher number 3.
  9. I like the pitch clock and am glad the shifting is gone also.
  10. Is there dead weight on the 40 to add non roster players like Hernandez to the team ?
  11. Fun Question : Will Parker hit more MLB homers than Austin in 2023 ? Seems obvious but be truthful did you pause to think about it ?
  12. Carpenters power v Badoos speed. Who goes north ?
  13. Yes providing he is open to accepting it and maybe he is I have no facts either way on that.
  14. I don’t know the back story regarding Tork but reading between the quotes in the news he seems reluctant to change his swing. Not sure that means he’s hard to coach. But assuming that could be partly true and the team has a lot riding on him I would let him “sink or swim” well into June. If he is still struggling then send him down and hopefully he will be more receptive to coaching.
  15. Too long of a post for sure 🙂
  16. Parker Meadows ceiling is higher than all our outfielders including his brother apart from Greene. He is a legit two way player and better in center than Greene who’s mediocre arm plays better in left. Greene - Meadows - Verling left to right all can hit field throw run and have power. I say line them up and play them every day. Austin is a DH and Miggy is a dud we’re stuck with both declining assets. One of Badoo and Carpenter back to AAA until we can clear them via trade or retirement. Look we waste too much time evaluating players and tough decisions are ahead. Let’s just make them sooner. Schoop is another. One dimensional and in decline. Go with Lipscus on the bench and Maton at second. He’s a middle infielder. Nevin on third since he’s out of options. Keith and JHM in the wings in AAA should he fail. Hernandez as back up. Kriedler to AAA. And somebody please tell Tork he’s on the team so he can relax. Sink or swim time is here. Play him until it hurts or he succeeds. Just put him in the 8 hole every day and let it roll. Quit being master scientist. Put the best talent on the field. Comerica Park field. And get Colt Keith and JUstin Mallory minimum 300 abs there this year. Sorry that’s my early spring rant but I am a bit impatient. I really like analytics but love talent so let it play if they are doing well. Ride the momentum.
  17. Tork seems to me like he is carrying the weight of the world with him to every AB. Not sure how he can relax but until he does he seems stiff and robotic.
  18. It does seem he did. Can we be so lucky..are we allowed to be so lucky,,,to have a POBO that actually is good at his job ?
  19. Maton and Verling “look” better than all our players apart from Greene and Baez and Meadows. I hope they play almost every day against both lefty and righty.
  20. Agree. And if Verling and Malloy become starters by mid season then this past off season goes from quiet to Robust.
  21. Possibly motivation to eat at the ball park with less time after work to fit in a restaurant before the game ?
  22. In summary it’s a good thing Al is gone but too bad he didn’t leave sooner. But hope springs eternal and we just might surprise on the up side in 2023.
  23. Yes you are both correct unless it results in a blown lead and a lost game then it’s RR.
  24. I have noticed you referencing this point for some time. I think even into 2021 and it has proven to be true. It’s almost like playing Russian roulette. Eventually you take a bullet.
