I think we have had a starting pitching disadvantage every game but one this season.

Maybe we can get a third baseman like that Parades fellow. Best trade Al made was getting Candy and Parades but he misjudged who was the better player and then traded him because "the rebuild was over ".

It is starting to seem like Skull might be the only one assuming he returns to normal after his surgery. I used to think Wentz would be better than Manning but now I believe if that does come true then neither rather than both will be solid starters. Hopefully by seasons end that's not the case but as for controlling the strike zone it's not looking good.

So it seems that starting pitchers that can go a consistent 6 or 7..and 3 times through the order, are more valuable than ever ( which last years free agency prices paid showed) and those that can not are worth less than before since they are just long relievers for the most part. Which is what our entire starting staff are made of.

But doesn't more pitchers needed per game equal more opportunities to have one of them fail ? Kind of like Russian roulette ?

Anxiety is indeed very real. I have a child living with it. Top student A++ top of her class through Freshman year high school. Then in an instant can not attend school. Snap of the fingers. And society though improving is still way behind. Must be drugs. Must be a party kid etc etc. while us parents are just trying to get her out of her room. Scary. Drop out or forced out of school. Only patience in HUGE quantities can overcome this and some are worse than others in time.. 3 years time…she gathered herself. Online high school then community school and proud to say graduating this spring from University of Washington in economics. So Austin Meadows should forget about baseball until he has the time to recover. Maybe send him to Florida his home. Play home games only for Lakeland and work out without any pressure to return to Detroit. Trying to prove he’s worth the money or trade for Detroit while the team losses is futile for his condition. Or retire. He has a new baby and most likely a few million in the bank.

You are right and Miguel's double today confirms it. And the result confirms your overall thesis as well. How come I don't feel better ?

I understand why Miguel is playing. Chris Ilitch is promoting him for profit and Miggy has "earned" the farewell but the Team and fans are playing with a near Automatic out and are offensively challenged to begin with. I just don't see how this can continue unless he has a dramatic turnaround.

I tend to agree but tough to prove. I hope Harris approaches MLB for an additional draft pick to replace the one Al foolishly traded in the least. It's a fair and easy fix. Tampa keeps their bounty and we get at least some compensation. Having said that I doubt it happens. Meadows will retire with salary is my guess.

Badoo is indeed blocked by Miguel. Also Austin Meadows is a concern. So probably leave Badoo in Toledo until the direction of those two are more clear. Schoop and McKinstry also on thin ice.
