  1. Doubt it. Since it’s not a political forum I will stop there. 😊
  2. In summary I do not blame Harris for what happened. It’s on Erod and his agent for me. But it’s still a disappointment and missed opportunity and Harris isn’t blameless either. And I agree with those who call for a GM hire so back channels and secondary options get more attention. I hope he doesn’t get hurt and opts out. Too much drama and I bet many teams told Harris just that these past few days.
  3. This. LAX is third world nightmare. It takes up to 30 minutes after getting there to crawl through traffic to your terminal. That’s after the nightmare of the 405. Then the TSA line ? Forget it !!
  4. Perhaps the back up plan at that point was to hope for the opt in ?
  5. Yes and I’m saying he did that before opening discussion with LA only to have Erod change his mind last minute. Hence the sand bag.
  6. Scot Harris and Andrew Friedman got sand bagged. Simple as that. As such Harris will wait to see if Erod opts in or opts out. There will be no extra $$ offered by Detroit. If Erod surprises by opting in my bet he will be traded soon thereafter. Two years in a row Erod’s best curve was off field.
  7. We don’t know what happened but it seems he was focusing on Baltimore and their GM was not budging so left with little options he gambled Erod would waive the no trade. It’s also possible the industry is wary of Erod after last season and his commitment level. Yes the 3 years is low but still too high if the player has questionable tendencies.
  8. Looks like a good return.
  9. your too quick...
  10. Like Enrique Suarez and Wiley Adames ?
  11. I always thought Rizzo was a clone of Al and this trade reinforces that. Rizzo is one of the last old school GMs.
  12. Hinch is just ok to me but not the problem. Lack of talent is the problem.
  13. I agree. Harris can’t do future trades if he doesn’t hold his ground. He will forever be offered crap.
  14. I don’t think we will get a high value minor leaguer without sending back controllable assets. So a player on the verge or blocked like Verling is what I’m thinking. A lefty hitting catcher or a near ready third baseman young with multiple years of control. Like Paredas was when we traded him. Sure if we can get a 55 rated prospect that’s great but I don’t see it for Lorenzen and even Erod.
  15. I hoping for major league players in return. Or very close.
  16. Dan just summing up Ohtani " Game one pitches a 1 Hitter and homers and Game 2 hits 2 homers ". Unreal.
  17. Well between the two it's Acuna hands down because of his "position flexibility" as we pursue 13 players that can play 13 positions and sell tickets provided 6 bat righty and six hit lefty and one switch hitter in Al's memory.
  18. Because defense does not count for Al even though pitching is most important to him. Sorry for the late cheap shot Al but we have to continue to suffer for your mistakes.
  19. Ohtani soon will be the highest paid player in Baseball history . Will he be considered the greatest player ever after his next contract ?
  20. Baltimore has about 12 grade 50 or better prospects and need a starter and reliever so hopefully we can match up with them but their GM might be the best in the game so careful Scottie.
  21. Yes he is. I think the reliever is also but not sure. The Angels minor leagues are not good so their second and third rated prospects might not be as good as it sounds but it can’t hurt our return for Erod and Lorenzen.
  22. Now that Ohtani is off the market the trades will start happening. Come on Harris it's your "moment of truth" again. Kill it like the draft.
  23. Angels just gave up their number 2 and number 3 prospects for Giolito and a reliever.
  24. Cleveland is getting killed on twitter but astutely they decided that Rosario's' defense is so bad they can not win with him at shortstop and as such he has no place to play. While Syndergard sucks perhaps he was hurt and at least provides depth allowing them to trade a starting pitcher for offense.
  25. Yes indeed that would be fun to hear. Probably lots of polite language and platitudes back and forth summarizing in Ohtani's mind as " You just view me as a cash cow and have no intention or ability to develop a winner which you proved by NOT trading me but let's start with $600 million for 10 years so I can play you for a bigger deal from the Dodgers and you can save face with your fans "
