  1. Sounds cheap doesn't it.
  2. Does ERod have any no trade protection ?
  3. Was he better than Sweet Lou ?
  4. I have no idea what Harris will do which is a very stark contrast to Al Avila who was very predictable and would probably be done by now. I don't think he will trade Riley Greene but everybody else is possible. Problem is, as stated on this board, we have few trade assets. Soto was and All Star but I think he is closer to being a future DFA candidate than to bringing back a major piece in trade. Jimenez has only one year of control but really good numbers in 2022. Lange is probably our highest bullpen asset. Tork is selling low. Skuball and Mize are hurt. Manning had arm/health issues in 2022. Can we trade ERod or does he have a no trade ? Also his "event" last year probably hinders his trade value but his price tag of 15 mil ish isn't too bad. Turnbull ? Meadows has all kinds of issues depressing his value. Despite Henning's latest glowing article about our minor league infielders and McCoskey's article about us being "well armed to trade" we have very little to offer. Maybe Jackson Jobe ? So I agree Harris's honeymoon is over but he will need way more time than one winter meetings to make an impact. Hope he can find a way to add at least one foundation piece this off season plus some fillers to make 2023 fun.
  5. Let's play "what if". Say Candelerio returns to 2021 level of production next year in Washington motivated by his walk season. Would anybody here offer him the 4 yr/50 million, or thereabouts, in free agency he would command and risk him turning into a pumpkin again?
  6. Or maybe because he got cut its the wake up call that motivates him to straighten up ? Perhaps there is a bit of this in all "change of scenery " situations ?
  7. I am reading comments on Cody S’s Athletic article that signing Boyd is an Al Avila move. How can signing someone Al gave up on be an Al Avila move ? Isn’t it just the opposite? And 10 mil for a decent MLB starter in 2023 seems reasonable.
  8. Hope Skubal can return by mid year and Mize probably 2024 or can he pitch next year sometime?
  9. Happy to have Boyd back. Now he can work with Fetter and I also think he will be starting. I remember Hinch saying Breiske's stuff would play well out of the pen and after trading much of the current bullpen arms away he will be needed. Boyd is a good fill in as we wait for Skull and Mize to return. We added him for less than what we saved on the arbitration guys we let go. Much better value. Solid move.
  10. This is my sentiments as well plus a desire for a new vision screen.
  11. Good luck to Candy. I truly wish him well and am also glad he is gone.
  12. The expanded base size could play into Badoo's favor next year as well.
  13. I will go on the record that I think Harris is a great hire and will find himself at or near the top of all Heads of Baseball Operations. So far he has impacted the organization in many areas. Just my Buffalo 🦬 nickel.
  14. What do you folks think about Caven Biggio for 3B/2B ? Seems blocked in Toronto. Young with MLB experience, Lefty, takes a walk, started his career fast and has slowed but still worth 1 war and might improve with playing time. Salary only 2.6 million next year and three more years on control. Might be available for the relievers we have. Maybe try to package him with Jansen for Catcher ?
  15. Another thought could Harris thinks Candy at a lower cost is a moveable asset should a better option present itself later in the off season.
  16. Would you pay BMW price for a Ford ?
  17. I think Harris will add at least one cornerstone player this off season and not just one year fillers. No idea who that might be or how he will obtain them. I don't see him passing on an off season to replace poor players with mediocre ones only to find himself in the same spot next off season.
  18. Perhaps keeping Cisneros was Harris reacting to what seems to be a much higher value being given to relievers so far in free agency so the 2.2 million was deemed reasonable. Also the stated interest in our relievers to trade.
  19. You can never have enough arms especially if your planning on trading out your bullpen.
  20. The house is looking cleaner now. Much better. Way the F overdue !! I mean if Harris didn't clean these players out wouldn't we be worried about him ?
  21. I think that will require cleaning house.
  22. Looks like my customer base during this recession.
  23. Clean house. New players please.
  24. I think arbitration has to be offered on the 18th(?) so if Harris plans on not offering to some players wouldn't they just be dropped today ? Is there a reason for keeping a player under contract today and taking a spot to then drop them 3 days later ? Is it just 3 days to trade said player or open more spots for rule 5 additions ? It seems like these two dates should be combined to the same deadline. What am I missing ?
