  1. Torkelson has me worried.
  2. The difference between Candy and Schoop is we have to pay Schoop and not Candy. I doubt Kriedler replaces Baez at short even if his bat was MLB ready which it’s not. Rodgers Baez Schoop and Green provides solid up the middle defense and that’s a good start for emerging from the ashes of 2022
  3. Not always hittin Harold putting in his reservation for place number 26 in 2023.
  4. Good point but if we can't trade him, and I doubt we can, then bring him back for spring competition and remember a player in their last year under contract are highly motivated plus his defense remains top tier. I think he is a decent candidate for a bounce back plus the money is already irrevocably invested.
  5. Schoop is under contract so either trade or fix. No reason to DFA unless the roster crunch is real which seems implausible
  6. Sophomore jinx ?
  7. I am not sure it has to be for verification though its very important. The fan has the video, ticket stub , maybe written offer from the Cardinals, and witness's etc . Given there is only four 700 home run balls in ML history it's worth quite a bit I would think. The fan should give it to Albert but Albert/Cardinals/MLB should be willing to pay close to current market value to be fair. Not just some random signed stuff, tickets and a handshake. That could be 10 to 20 years of earnings to the fan.
  8. Seems to me you have a pretty solid understanding of the players. I don't think they want to give up on Baddoo and Cisneros just yet but it's hard to know what Harris will do.
  9. Is anybody worried about Tork ? I am bracing for disappointment myself but it's only based on a gut feeling. He seems so "robotic" at the plate and has not really hit good pitchers the second time around. Greene seems so so much better.
  10. September Baez for 2023 please.
  11. I was thinking Peraza for second base and infield depth. Not necessarily to move Baez who I have said and think is fine at short. Donaldson would be the cost to get Peraza without having to trade much back and he would fill 3B for one year as Kriedler plays AAA. Maybe a red ass might help if channeled also. The Yankees want to sign Judge and pare payroll to do so and that might present opportunity.
  12. Ya he was. And Miggy looks not too good.
  13. Those all sound like good options. Al missed Wily Adames when Tampa traded him to the Brewers. He has 30 bombs ( E sock with 20 ouch ). The Yankees have two budding AAA shortstops and are trying to sign Judge and unload some salary to do it so maybe we try for one of those shortstops and take on Donaldson salary in the trade? The lefty catcher you listed could team with Haase so that works and KC wants pitching and Melendez is blocked by Savy good stuff
  14. I doubt he is available. Just someone that met your inquiry and represents risk taking to acquire. Don’t think we have the right assets they need. Sure would be fun though.
  15. Yes. How about Shoehi Othani ??
  16. 61 is also the American League record.
  17. Jordan Zimmerman Mike Pelfry and a relief pitcher I think named Lowe all in one off season ! The tri fecta of bad.
  18. Baez is definitely someone Harris would never sign so it will be interesting to see if Baez adjusts to Harris. I liked how Harris gave Javey high praise when that was pointed out so let's hope we can get a .280/.330/480 hitter with half the errors next year plus the added spectacular plays. That would equal El Mago.
  19. Well they say you can never have enough pitching so who knows ? I don't think Mize or Skubal can be counted on at all next year. maybe Skubull but with our luck doubtful. Turnbull will be pitching the first year after TJ and everyone not named Verlander often struggles so he's not solid. Everyone after Manning ( and he was shut down for arm trouble this year) and Erod ( who disappeared) is either a second year guy ( see Badoo.Akil) or rookie so I would guess they will add starting pitcher(s) at reasonable cost or via trade.
  20. I don’t think Harris needs a year to evaluate the current roster and minor leagues. I am sure he has an evaluation in place of all major league and minor league players at all times. That’s why he’s here and a rising star in the game. A person that sharp probably had a good idea how to proceed right now. I expect a large turnover in personnel this off season.
  21. is there a link to watch a replay of the press conference somewhere ?
  22. I like the hire. Not an internal promotion and not associated with AJ Hinch or Houston. No obligations to the past or any current employee. Anxious to hear him speak. Going to be a fun off season.
  23. Agreed that Hinch "seems" like a very player friendly manager ala the NBA which might explain his reluctance to shut down harder on the Houston situation when there. However the trend is naturally going to be that way as salaries rise for players so does their influence. I'm sure owners don't want the manager "upsetting" their big investment also so it's a tough spot. I guess that's why Baseball managers main job is handling personnel rather than in game management.
