  1. that picture reminds me of how i miss david stern as commissioner. didnt put up with any ****.
  2. danielson will be ready soon.
  3. patrick kane continues to save this team.
  4. another win that shows how bad this team is without Larkin. theyre playing a horrible team, at home, and they barely win. hey, a win is a win. but this is just another example of how this team is defying the numbers and - honestly - getting lucky. it helps that everyone else at the bottom of the east sucks too.
  5. boo them off the ice.
  6. celtics B team destroys pistons b team.
  7. the bears didnt want him around when they bring in a new qb. that would lead to a divided dressing room and potentially create factions. better to just start with a clean slate. also, justin fields isnt very good. they had a bears reporter on the radio this morning and asked him why fields went for such a low draft pick. why does the league view him as worth only a 6th round pick? "because they looked at the tape." how many open guys do you have to miss? how many sacks do you get because you hold the ball too long? why do you never throw people open? why duck and run constantly? because you cant read a defense. that's why. every athletic qb is not going to turn into lamar jackson.
  8. "andre drummond disease" is ignoring your talents and trying to be something youre not. not focusing on improving your game and ignoring the fundamentals because you think youre better than you are. and being lazy. i dont watch enough pistons to know, but when i see duren turning the ball over a lot, and taking stupid running shots and ignoring open guys, i see the early warning signs of Andre Drummond Disease. same with being lazy on defense. he's obviously not as lazy as andre when it comes to nutrition and the weight room, so there is that. somebody needs to get ben wallace to sit down with these guys. they would give ben one shot early in the game to get him involved and then he would go back to rebounds and defense. duren could be the same way if he wanted to emulate that player instead of trying to be lebron james.
  9. he's still very young. otoh, so are most rookies and they get better. its one of the pitfalls of taking 19 year old kids instead of college juniors or seniors. but its not like the pistons are the only organization with these issues.
  10. the underlying numbers said they werent as good as their record most of the season. judging from what yzerman did - and didnt - do at the trade deadline, he must feel the same way. if larkin comes back they still have a good shot at making it, mostly because the competition isnt very good either.
  11. bam 1 cade 0
  12. duncan robinson having a quality nba career is still weird to me.
  13. beats watching baseball.
  14. you have no idea what its been like living among the cult of justin fields. i knew bears were stupid but they took it to a whole new level with fields.
  15. on the one hand, yes the bears are a qb killing franchise. and they did the stupid thing of drafting a qb before they had any oline in place to help him. otoh, justin fields cant read a defense to save his buckeye life. it wasnt all the bears. fields sucks. this is why tpfan is not a gm.
  16. you jinxed the senators.
  17. there's a lot of high end talent at very important positions in this draft (qb, wr, lt, cb) that could push a lot of interior lineman down the board. i hope the lions get some ragnow insurance. theyre going to need it soon. getting a center who can play guard would be ideal. not sure it needs to be in round one unless you want the oregon kid.
  18. michigan has been passing athletes for years. kineseology majors, anyone? even when my grandfather was teaching there it was common knowledge that certain professors would always give athletes "Cs" no matter what.
  19. no no NO! this isnt a jim harbaugh situation where he left after all the other good choices were hired by other teams, michigan has their pick of the litter. they can interview and hire any number of up and coming coaches. beilein is too old. although i dont put it past michigan to re-hire him. its an easy decision that requires little thought or proactive action.
  20. make a tournament with what? half the team will leave. he has limited talent left on the team. what recruit will come here knowing he's a band aid coach? what player can they get in the portal when they refuse almost everyone who isnt a freshman or a grad transfer? you wouldnt be building a program, you'd be pining for nostalgia with a 70 year old man who hasnt coached in years. find the next john beilein, not the retired john beilein.
  21. beilein has been out of bball for years now and is 70 years old. hiring him would be stupid.
  22. nate oats is the man to get if he wants to come back home. depends on whether he wants to leave a good spot where they actually get good players into school. michigan basketball may be a poisoned chalice if the admissions department doesnt get on board the "were professionals now" train.
