i dont know if "credit" is the right term, it might say more about the market at the deadline. but at some point theyre going to have to trade for or sign a "star." i know they kind of did that with debrincat, but they need a second line center in the worst possible way. and with the very slow way they bring prospects along (as well as the contracts they signed with copp/compher), it will be a few years before we find out if kasper or danielson is that type of player.

i hope they draft a long snapper. that will show that they mean business. /throwbackfights
-
i'd still make that trade.

if you have a qb and a good coach, you can turn things around pretry quickly in the nfl. look at the texans. i would have cut bosa if i were the chargers. dude is getting old and is always hurt. but they re-negotiated today. they should trade out of 5 and rob the vikings. the chargers trading out of 5 so the vikings can draft mccarthy would be kind of ironic considering harbaugh is their coach.
-
the forwards are as bad or worse than the defense. copp and compher were supposed to be solid vets who knew where to go and played solid defense. instead, compher looks like a third line center and copp is now either 4th line or a winger.

it's the same **** they did with mel pearson. that process took months and months and it cost michigan hockey top recruits because warde wouldnt pull the trigger himself (or wasnt allowed to). cost them trey augustine. the same thing will happen here. juwan will dangle for months while the investigation is completed, michigan will miss out on any hot coaches, and recruits will leave. stanford just fired their coach. its easy to fire a coach! just do it!
-
it's an administrative proceeding designed to cover the administration's ass when they fire him. "well, we had a consultant group come in and review and they told us that things were amiss!" its a weak administrator's way of building a case to fire someone. warde cant make a decision on his own. they have more than enough evidence to fire him for cause.

i'm not outraged by any of it! i wish michigan would have outbid them! and osu already self-reported violations about tampering with recruits (which doesnt bother me at all either) so they were making offers before the portal period even opened. again, i dont care. my comment was more directed to osu not taking michigan's recent ascendency laying down. they spent a lot of money on this team, from chip kelly to bringing back a whole bunch of players who were very draftable. that costs money. osu media saying osu "finished second" for recruits is like michigan media saying michigan was in on recruits but they couldnt get into school, sometimes its true but its usually just an excuse to make us feel better that we didnt get a kid and cover for the coaching staff. so even if a caleb downs said "osu finished second", he likely had other suitors and osu had to fend them off with some cash. and that's perfectly legal and i'm fine with it.

dude, laiatu latu had spinal fusion surgery and youre all about drafting him. 😉
-
latu was injured in 2020 and medically retired for two years. he had neck fusion surgery. ymmv, your doctor's mileage may vary. but that's way too risky for me. maurice hearst fell to round 5 because of a heart murmur. if latu is there in round 5, i say we take him.

keenan allen is also 32 years old and very expensive. how many years does he have left before he becomes an expensive possession receiver?
-
i agree. however, everyone said the same thing about the nfc west last year too. the nfl is so random for 80% of the league. 10% sucks. 10% is great and everyone else can beat everyone else on any sunday, just depends on luck, refs, and injuries.

i will be stunned if ohio state loses more than one game this year. i will be surprised if they lose 1. and i think they are going to beat michigan comfortably. they spent the whole offseason buying players to do it and michigan lost half their team, half their coaching staff, and their head coach.

the bears are going to be better. hopefully a rookie qb holds them back next year.
-
Latu retired from college football once already because of injury, i wouldnt take him at 29 much less trade up for him.
-
deservedly booed off the ice.
-
this is amazingly bad. were back to waiting to get screwed in the lottery.
-
they're so conservative.

i dont think saleh bowed down to rogers, he had no choice. rogers is who he is. that's mgmt's fault for bringing a cancerous prima donna onto a fragile team in the biggest, moat aggressive media market in the country. it will be interesting to see how the steelers deal with their own prima donna qb who destroys locker rooms. but unlike the jets, the steelers have a very long culture spearheaded by strong ownership.
-
the talk before this losing streak was them looking to re-sign perron, which is crazy, imo. i know he's a good locker room guy but his play has really deteriorated this year. i was hoping they would have trade a defenseman for the reasons already articulated by everyone else. "old, but slow" is not a good motto for your defense corps. i honestly think they expected someone (anyone!) to get hurt. and there have been almost no injuries to the defense.
