  1. i dont think he's an old washed loser, i think he is too expensive and i dont want the lions to give up a lot of draft capital to pay him. maybe he becomes patrick peterson or jalen ramsey? i dont know. i dont want to take that chance.
  2. depends how you mean it. technically the dividing line is madison in the loop. i dont consider places like the commodities exchange to be on the "southside." the "78" is just below the loop. south loop they call it now. the bears current stadium is south of the dividing line, do they play on the "southside"? i dont think so, they play on the lakefront. buckingham fountain is too. so to me just south of soldier field on the lakefront isnt "the southside." its the lakefront.
  3. i'd take mcduffie over sneed all day long. so would the chiefs which is why theyre looking to trade sneed. is patrick surtain available? id pay more for him than sneed.
  4. ymmv. no thanks on a 27 year old late bloomer who is grabby af.
  5. i hope they dont trade for sneed. that's a ton of money for a guy who commits a ton of penalties. if they do, then maybe a 4th or 5th, nothing more than that.
  6. i think theyre better this year than last year. the difference is larkin. they fell apart as soon as he got injured this season, once in december and now again in march. tells me how much this team is dying for a good second line center. compher is a nice player but not the type who can play regularly against the other team's top line.
  7. i'm really hoping the city and state give the white sox and bears nothing. the thought of the sox moving to nashville would make me so happy. but that wont happen. the city will fold and give them whatever they want. the state will give them a bunch of tax revenue backed bonds that my tax dollars will be paying back for the next 30 years. they still owe hundreds of millions for the soldier field renovation. the best bet is that the bears end up in arlington heights. there has been no real talk here about them building anything on the comiskey site, its all focused on arlington heights and the lakefront.
  8. south of soldier field is not really "the south side." its right next to soldier field. the bears are likely bluffing. they paid $250 million for the site in arlington heights and have already begun work tearing down the existing structure. but because theyre the bears (i.e.: run by morons), they didnt plan on the locals not giving them public money and a big tax cut. when the local school districts told the bears to go **** themselves, they suddenly decided they wanted to stay in chicago. that site is on the lakefront. the "friends of the lakefront" group will tie this matter up in litigation for years before they allow the bears to build anything there. we were supposed to have a george lucas star wars museum there but the "friends" blocked it in court and lucas finally left and put it in LA. they will do the same thing for the bears. moreover, that site is park district land which may necessitate the bears letting the park district run the stadium like they do now, which means less money for the bears. the likely scenario is still that the bears move to arlington heights. it makes the most sense for everyone. this romantic idea of "bear weather" and "being on the lakefront" is the kind of thing that stupid people think about, not sophisticated business people running a multi-billion operation. but since were talking about the bears, "sophisticated business people" does not apply.
  9. troy should probably sit in the suite...
  10. russell wilson to the steelers. i remember when pittsburgh was a model organization. now theyre just happy to be .500 every year.
  11. what organization tolerates its executives lashing out or threatening to beat up its customers? other than michigan's basketball team...
  12. when its a year like this year with a bunch of qbs at the top, you usually get one great one, one or two good ones, and a bunch of journeymen clip holders. heck, the 2021 class might go down as one of the WORST qb classes. certainly the most overhyped. ah yes, who can forget tpfan and his rant that brad holmes was a terrible gm because he took a TACKLE over justin fields.
  13. "its like that with almost every qb class."
  14. warde will do nothing because he's bad at this part of his job. im not sure there's a part of the job he's good at, maybe he can fundraise like a demon?
  15. if the ceo of my company told a customer "youre lucky i dont beat your ass" in public on video he would be fired immediately. troy weaver is not a player, he's a professional manager. you cannot act that way as a leader of an organization. the bare minimum is a suspension. if the pistons dont do it the league has to do it. lets be honest, this would be a great excuse to get rid of weaver, but gores isnt that smart or proactive.
  16. disagree. dont sit in the stands if you cant take it.
  17. part of the job is taking criticism. you dont throw out a fan for being a jerk. that's bush league from weaver.
  18. remember how everyone said how great and transcendant the 2021 qb class would be? they all suck. lawrence is the only one who is decent and he's been underwhelming. its like that with almost every qb class. and it will be like that again for this qb class.
  19. i thought ausar was getting better at shooting?
  20. unlike detroit, washington and tampa realize what the mission is. both are up 4-0 in the first period.
  21. i hope the wings fans there booed them off the ice.
  22. must win game and theyre down 3-0 to an arizona team that traded half their team today. totally pathetic how bad this team is whithout ONE GUY!!!! you take larkin out and they're the san jose sharks.
  23. 2-0. too bad this game wasnt played a week ago so we could get some draft picks for perron and gotishbere.
  24. again, they cant clear the zone and they give up an early goal. if there is one criticism of yzerman it is his love of average to below average defensemen who are "experienced." look, if steve yzerman and sergei federov are your forwards you can afford to have veteran (old) defensemen. especially if you have the greatest defenseman of all time on your blue line. but if you have larkin (good) and compher (decent) in your top six, you cant be giving multi year deals to ollie maata, justin holm, and jeff petry and think you can be a playoff contender.
