  1. jarrett supppsedly signed with the bears.
  2. maybe on a cheap deal, i'd be worried about the miles on him. i think the lions will get at least one dt and use some draft capital to get another. good draft for dline.
  3. bears have really improved their interior oline. still not sure about their tackles, but they still have the #10 pick as well as carolina's second rounder.
  4. i love stevie and i think he has done a good job building farm depth, but this summer was an absolute disaster.
  5. matas is taller and longer. dont know if he ever puts on enough weight to be solid enough to play d. ron is solid enough, but i dont know what he's good at other than trying real hard. matas is more projectable and has a higher ceiling if he fills out. both their shots are broke right now. but we'll see. being a rookie on a bad team isnt always a good indicator of how good someone actually is.
  6. a finesse winger not from sweden doesnt really sound like am yzerman type player.
  7. bunch of old men on this thread talking about maladies. lol.
  8. remember when scoot henderson was a cant miss prospect?
  9. im beginning to think buzelis was a better pick than holland.
  10. smith wasnt very good for detroit last year and is now a year older. i guess if they can get him for cheap it would be ok. like they did with davenport. but there are lots of other options out there who are younger and with more upside OR better veterans. they need depth up front considering mcneil is out for most of next season and levi is a free agent, so they might have to settle for smith on a small deal. i always felt the idea of hutch learning moves from old vets to be the most overrated, fan driven thing in the world. hutch has more moves now than smith or davenport have ever had.
  11. cooper flagg...
  12. not on that contract. wisely, the lions released him this morning. they can bring him back on a better deal if they choose, although there are much better choices out there, albeit more expensive choices.
  13. close but no cigar.
  14. i love steph, but draymond and jimmy butler on the same team make the warriors the most hateable team in the league.
  15. i do wonder what they could have gotten for rasmussen this deadline. third line centers were going for first and second rounders...
  16. if we could have been in position to draft nathan mackinnan and cale makar, i could cede the colorado point, but they werent. i think yzerman has done a great job of drafting and developing. last year he signed some quality vets to get the team to average. this offseason was a disaster other than signing raymond and seider to good contracts. whomever is in charge of nhl scouting needs to be fired. the walman trade was a disaster. tarasenko is a disaster. gustaffson is a disaster. motte is useless. but the plan was always - imo - to rebuild around seider and raymond. they should be able to do that as soon as next year. there's no point of trading multiple picks for guys who are almost 30 for this team. theyre not there. i thought yzerman waa right on track until this offseason. now i still give him the benefit of the doubt, but i think we need to see something this offseason.
  17. another shorthanded goal. another TERRIBLE PLAY BY GUSTAFFSON, as he fails to keep the puck in and no one bothers to cover for him leads to a breakaway. abaolutely pathetic 3rd period from the usual suspects.
  18. the wings were up 2-1 with a two minute power play and 5 minutes later youre losing 4-2.
  19. who knew one injury to andrew copp would result in a total team collapse.
  20. great passing by the caps and its 4-2. another soft one from talbot.
  21. or they could have just drafted him inatead of taking cholowski.
  22. and just like that its 3-2. chychrun can take the puck and wander right into a great area, tarasenko is just standing and watching him skate, and he puts one past talbot. terrible. time for some draft prospect previews!
  23. terrible turnover by larkin leads to a shorthanded goal for washington.
  24. nobody wants to hear this, but the contention timeline starts in 2 years...which is actually a little early. that's when seider and raymond should hit their prime, kasper should be established as a center, danielson as #2, and larkin on the 3rd line. ed and seider as top pair and asp on the second line and pp. that's why i expect them to sign someone this offseason. maybe a marner if he's available. or mcdavid... remember when kenny said it takes 10 years to do a rebuild? the rebuild started in 2019 (thanks to kenny's inept drafting).
  25. i'm not really disagreeing with you, i've just heard it said by a couple beat writers that they plan on keeping cossa in GR next year.
