looking at what the market was doing, i dont think the wings had anything they were willing to give up that other teams wanted. i doubt you coukd get more than a 3rd for ghost or perron. if that.

they were the worst team in the history of modern hockey with a barren farm system. ken holland says it takes ten years to rebuild? imo, the rebuild started when holland was fired. everything he did before then to get assets was ok, but then you had ken holland picking the assets. i have plenty of issues with what yzerman did this last offseason, most specifically loading up on old defensemen, but other than that i dont. i would give it a couple more years, but im patient. lol. and i think the wings had the worst organization in the league when he took over.

when they hired yzerman, i posted "how long will it take for tater to call for him to be fired?" i guess now we know. a six game losing streak in year 5.

at the very least there should be a some sort of public acknowledgement of inappropriate behavior by a member of the leadership group and an apology should be issued. i would fine or suspend him but that's not how the league operates. you can get away with stuff like this that wouldnt happen in a normal business. i would use this as another in a long line of reasons to dismiss him, the main one being the product on the floor four years into a "rebuild."

lets all take a moment to laugh at the carolina panthers. as they sit and watch the bears take a "generational tbd" qb with their #1 pick they gave up to take a tiny qb who was terrible in year one, lets not forget they turned down mutiple #1 picks to trade for brian burns and instead just dealt him for a second and a fifth. they make the pistons look well run.

i dont like giving up multiple picks for davis, but at least its not a second.

to me its that the bears (with their offseason additions and the addition of sweat and the subtraction of fields) and packers have passed them and the lions were already ahead.

exactly. its not that sneed is bad, its that he's expensive and he's not franchise changing talented. sign someone who only costs you money, not money and draft capital.

the southside and south suburbs reminds me of detroit. working class, lots of strip malls, some ethnic enclaves. majority black. hyde park is nice. bronzeville has some nice areas to it. i know people who live in south shore who like it. pilsen is the southside but its gentrfying very quickly. becoming more like the north side east of ashland. west to western is developing but is still very mexican. little village is all mexican. but now youre getting more into whether youre in the "west" or "south." traditionally (at least in the last 30-40 years since the great influx of mexican immigrants) the south side is black, the north side is white, and the west side is mexican. that's a way too general way to look at it, but there's some truth to it. a lot of the southside is not very nice. back of the yards, etc. the west side is worse in a lot of places. but the northside is my favorite place in the whole country. one of the greatest parts of the greatest city in america.
