as soon as they are no longer affiliated with the university they will no longer be relevant. no one will care. its the ties to the university that drive the love. no one cares about the usfl. which is why theyre really walking a fine line right now.

given how physical and chippy this game was, the return match in vancouver could be pretty interesting.

sergachev going out for tampa really really really hurts them. they dont have that flexibility that they used to. btw, how great a play from raymond was that in ot? he's got lindholm (i think) draped all over him, lindholm checks him into the boards, but raymond holds him off, takes the check and keeps possession, wriggles away, and then finds walman streaking in behind a sleeping quinn hughes. tocchet was about to pull whatever hair is left in his head out after that. last year's raymond falls down or is pinned against the boards. this year's raymond is strong enough to work through it, and skilled enough to make a great pass out of it. considering raymond was leveled in the first on a dirty hit by zadorov and had enough to come back and play makes it even better. he's getting stronger and better.

what a great win. they really needed that considering what is coming up on the schedule. how good was that walman trade?

atlantic article has trade value for hanifan as a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd/ equivalent prospect. tanev value as a 2nd and a prospect unless they can weasel a 1st out of the leafs. i dont think the wings should do either of those deals.

bojan would have gotten a first last year. everyone has said that. dealing him AND burks a year later for what they got is less than what they could have received last year. that's bad asset mgmt. moving bagley and seconds to get off his contract is poor asset management, especially considering they signed him to that extension in the first place. you had to give something of value away in order to have someone TAKE your asset. you signed bagley to a contract that was so bad (that you criticized) that's bad asset mgmt. the contract was bad and dealing assets to get rid of it was bad. using your cap space to trade for harris. poor asset mgmt. cap space is an asset. using seconds to get off the plumlee contract was poor asset management. YOU criticized the plumlee deal and said how much he sucked for years and asked why they would sign him. then they used picks to get out of the deal and you dont think that's poor asset mgmt? they did not have to trade for dedmon and then stretch him to sign grant. there were other things they could have done. you dont think trading bey for wiseman was poor asset mgmt? they compounded their mistake in trading assets FOR the right to draft bey with then trading bey for one of the least valuable players in the league. how is that good asset mgmt? and dont give me the "they would have had to sign bey" bull****. 1) no they wouldnt have had to sign him and 2) they could have traded him for something other than the least valuable player in the league. he's horrible at asset mgmt. how do you go through a rebuild and four years later have the worst record in the league and NO pick surplus? you dont know what youre doing, that's how.
