atlanta now has a group of investors with a proposal for an expansion team. following on salt lake city's proposal last year. does the nhl ever learn with atlanta? maybe just move the jets back?
-
me too.

if cominskey's agent thought he would get more on the market, he would have declined. he wasnt all that good last year. not as good as he was the year before.
-
lets all take a moment to laugh at the carolina panthers. as they sit and watch the bears take a "generational tbd" qb with their #1 pick they gave up to take a tiny qb who was terrible in year one, lets not forget they turned down mutiple #1 picks to trade for brian burns and instead just dealt him for a second and a fifth. they make the pistons look well run.
-
i dont like giving up multiple picks for davis, but at least its not a second.

charlotte makes a lot of guys look good
-
caps down 2-0 in the third.
-
58.2 pff grade last year. owed $14 million. ymmv on pff grades.
-
also remember that the cap is going up so salaries go up too. its the cap percentage to watch.
-
i really doubt the bears trade him in the division and that the vikings want him. more likely sign tannehill and draft a qb.
-
to me its that the bears (with their offseason additions and the addition of sweat and the subtraction of fields) and packers have passed them and the lions were already ahead.
-
i'm glad the bears didnt get saquon.
-
let someone else pay jonah that kind of money.
-
exactly. its not that sneed is bad, its that he's expensive and he's not franchise changing talented. sign someone who only costs you money, not money and draft capital.

the southside and south suburbs reminds me of detroit. working class, lots of strip malls, some ethnic enclaves. majority black. hyde park is nice. bronzeville has some nice areas to it. i know people who live in south shore who like it. pilsen is the southside but its gentrfying very quickly. becoming more like the north side east of ashland. west to western is developing but is still very mexican. little village is all mexican. but now youre getting more into whether youre in the "west" or "south." traditionally (at least in the last 30-40 years since the great influx of mexican immigrants) the south side is black, the north side is white, and the west side is mexican. that's a way too general way to look at it, but there's some truth to it. a lot of the southside is not very nice. back of the yards, etc. the west side is worse in a lot of places. but the northside is my favorite place in the whole country. one of the greatest parts of the greatest city in america.

i dont think he's an old washed loser, i think he is too expensive and i dont want the lions to give up a lot of draft capital to pay him. maybe he becomes patrick peterson or jalen ramsey? i dont know. i dont want to take that chance.
-
depends how you mean it. technically the dividing line is madison in the loop. i dont consider places like the commodities exchange to be on the "southside." the "78" is just below the loop. south loop they call it now. the bears current stadium is south of the dividing line, do they play on the "southside"? i dont think so, they play on the lakefront. buckingham fountain is too. so to me just south of soldier field on the lakefront isnt "the southside." its the lakefront.
-
i'd take mcduffie over sneed all day long. so would the chiefs which is why theyre looking to trade sneed. is patrick surtain available? id pay more for him than sneed.
-
ymmv. no thanks on a 27 year old late bloomer who is grabby af.
-
i hope they dont trade for sneed. that's a ton of money for a guy who commits a ton of penalties. if they do, then maybe a 4th or 5th, nothing more than that.
-
i think theyre better this year than last year. the difference is larkin. they fell apart as soon as he got injured this season, once in december and now again in march. tells me how much this team is dying for a good second line center. compher is a nice player but not the type who can play regularly against the other team's top line.

i'm really hoping the city and state give the white sox and bears nothing. the thought of the sox moving to nashville would make me so happy. but that wont happen. the city will fold and give them whatever they want. the state will give them a bunch of tax revenue backed bonds that my tax dollars will be paying back for the next 30 years. they still owe hundreds of millions for the soldier field renovation. the best bet is that the bears end up in arlington heights. there has been no real talk here about them building anything on the comiskey site, its all focused on arlington heights and the lakefront.
-
south of soldier field is not really "the south side." its right next to soldier field. the bears are likely bluffing. they paid $250 million for the site in arlington heights and have already begun work tearing down the existing structure. but because theyre the bears (i.e.: run by morons), they didnt plan on the locals not giving them public money and a big tax cut. when the local school districts told the bears to go **** themselves, they suddenly decided they wanted to stay in chicago. that site is on the lakefront. the "friends of the lakefront" group will tie this matter up in litigation for years before they allow the bears to build anything there. we were supposed to have a george lucas star wars museum there but the "friends" blocked it in court and lucas finally left and put it in LA. they will do the same thing for the bears. moreover, that site is park district land which may necessitate the bears letting the park district run the stadium like they do now, which means less money for the bears. the likely scenario is still that the bears move to arlington heights. it makes the most sense for everyone. this romantic idea of "bear weather" and "being on the lakefront" is the kind of thing that stupid people think about, not sophisticated business people running a multi-billion operation. but since were talking about the bears, "sophisticated business people" does not apply.

troy should probably sit in the suite...
