i'm ready for the JEIII article tomorrow on he this game saw real progress and that troy's vision will really come together if only the team were healthy. -

they can always franchise him. there's not much out there to replace him with. -

as bad as goff has been in a few of the last couple games (but not all of them, he made some throws against the saints), if he were on the open market he'd get $40 mil or more a year. there are no qbs out there. goff can at least run an offense. can get people in the right place. he knows where to go with the ball. he is who most of us thought he was: adequate to good. those guys dont grow on trees in the nfl. do the lions want to commit that much of their cap to goff? or can they get him to do a bridge deal like geno did? i've always thought the plan was to suck in year one (mission accomplished!) and draft a qb...but there no qbs worth taking. so the plan shifted. i imagine they hope hooker becomes something and they can let goff walk after next year or franchise him. if hooker doesnt develop i cant imagine them letting goff walk. he'll get a deal here and we'll be stuck with him, for better or worse. and it could be worse. look at the vikings. or....you could trade for justin fields. -

i dont know what you expect dan campbell to say. he's not going to throw individuals under rhe bus right now, he's not a fan on a sports radio call in show, he's the coach of a stumbling team. he's got to build them back up, not make fans happy by saying how much they suck. -

doesnt tellum own part of the team? i doubt he goes anywhere. the best you can hope for is that the pistons stop drafting his son's clients. but all you've wrote is true, tom gores chases big shiny toys because he doesnt actually know anything about basketball or how to run a sports franchise. he likely has no connections in the industry (that's tellum's job). we all know weaver didnt want monty. he wanted kevin ollie. the word is that tellum wanted jason collins. would the team have been better off with either of those guys? who knows, but it couldnt have been any worse! in a way, monty is a troy's plausible deniability ("i didnt want him"). otoh, troy will never get another head job again after this mess. he'll be relegated to scouting and assisting. speaking of him, troy weaver came with the sam presti pedigree and looked like a great hire. and yet....here we are. if gores actually cared - and he might, those VC/hedge fund douches are very competitive - he might feel a bit snake bit. -

i could go on...jacksonville just gave up 31 to cleveland's third string qb...the vikings scored 3 points on vegas and have nick mullens starting and JJ hurt again... but im a lions pessimist so this is just water finding its level, imo. -

JEIII with the usual "things need time to gel" article today. which almost all of predicted would be the next article (they havent had time to play together because of injuries) but couched in the "dont make a panic move and trade for kuzma or lavine" mantra. which i agree with. i dont want either of those guys. but if he's writing: "Assuming Detroit doesn’t suddenly turn a month’s worth of losing into the alternative over the next five days, it’s my understanding that the Pistons could be active in the trade market in the coming weeks." that means he's heard the front office is looking to make a deal. which is scary considering this front office's track record. i dont have a freep or detnews account so i cant read their beat writers articles. and there's no point in reading keith langlois because he works for the team. btw, the comments to those articles are pretty funny lately with them all calling out JEIII for being a weaver shill. especially today with the "you wrote the same **** about josh jackson" back in the day that you write now about livers. he's turned a corner in practice! lol. -

things were not as good as it seemed when they were winning and its not as bad as it seems when theyre losing. its the nfl, its a week to week league. houston just lost to the jets by three touchdowns. the niners lost three ganes in a row. the eagles have been blown out two straight weeks. with that said, the lions were never a SB contender, imo. theyre in that happy middle, but towards the top of the middle. 10-11 wins is a good season for where they are. they still need jamo to develop into a star receiver and to get some - ANY - pass rush. this team is going to look very different next year. the okwara brothers will be gone. charles harris will be gone. tracy walker is trending to be gone. they'll need new safeties. they'll need at least one cornerback. maybe 3. and what do you do with goff? to me you dont do anything and you let goff play out next season and hope hooker develops into a viable alternative for 2025. i wouldnt sign goff long term unless hooker shows you nothing. then i would re-sign goff. how long can ragnow play with his foot injuries? do you splash for jonah jackson? how many DEs do you sign? part of me hopes they sign chase young so tater can have something to talk about for next season. 😉 -

multiple people in multiple lions threads on this site have either outright written as much, or implied as much numerous times. i said 10 wins. now i think they'll win 11. -

i think they'll beat the broncos and the vikings at home. i give them a really good chance of beating the vikings on the road too. i think the vikings may not win another game. -
people who say they like bailey over loni anderson are just trying to sound cool. wkrp hipsters. loni anderson is much better looking than bailey. its not even close. lol.

have you seen the rest of the division?

if the lions win more than 10 games this season will be a success, imo. all this talk of them being better than san fran or philly was just wishcasting. the nfl is a week to week league. the lions need to get their act together and win a couple more games and win the division. that will be a great success considering the lack of talent this team has on defense. last week you were all gushing over jared goff. still feeling that way now? lol.
