    its really impossible to rank them, its more of a grouping. but this is a message board! so rank we will! 1) notre dame 2) alabama 3) ohio state 4) michigan 5) texas 6) oklahoma 7) penn state 8 georgia 9) lsu 10) florida state HM: nebraska, tennessee, florida, usc, texas a&m, oregon, washington. i dont think any other big ten teams qualify. no way for wisconsin. no way for clemson. they're already fading away. nebraska is only there because of their amazing history and massive fan base. sleeping giant.

    is he better than what you have now? he hasnt done anything since coming back from injury. youre basing your whole opinion on draft status and what he did in college, thst was three years ago.

    the risk is you lose a third round pick. and youre not guaranteed a comp pick for him if you sign other free agents. this aint baseball. and that assumes someone else wants to pay big money to a guy who has been injured and never returned to any sort of form since the injury. pass. and he had a rep as lazy and selfish in washington.

    in fairness, florida state louisville was on at the same time as michigan iowa. georgia bama had no competition for cfb viewers.

    not only would have traded for him, you would have had to give him the massive contract extension the bears just did. otoh, he is playing really well for the bears and having him across from hutch would make a nice 1-2. in hindsight, i would not have made that trade.

    michigan is trying to do it differently. using nil to reward players who stay rather than as an inducement to come (which is, in fact, the actual nil rule...and we KNOW how much the big ten is all about sticking to the letter of the rule, especially osu, get on it pettiti!) theyre also put behind the 8 ball a bit because of their ridiculous academic admissions department that thinks STANFORD credits dont even meet the exalted standards of the mighty university of michigan.

    cause i think he's a mercenary. that's three transfers in three years. the going gets tough and dante moore goes to get another bag. the larger "ugh" is that it means theyre not going to get bryce underwood. he'll take his bag from lsu.

    they also made it seem like the lions were actual contenders if only kevin glover, lomas brown, chris spielman, etc had stayed. ummm...no. they were not when they left and giving all those guys big bags of money wouldnt have changed that. the larger point is that the lions were a **** organization.

    chase young has done nothing eventful in san fran and is a free agent after this year. not sure why youre so fascinated with him. the real question is whether you would have traded a first round pick for sweat.

    the bears dline is much improved. especially since they brought in sweat. i wouldnt assume the lions were going to run all over them. they'll need a good game from goff and no turnovers this time.
