  1. so no aj barner in round 6? lol.
  2. pistons must go 4-3 in their last 7 games to avoid finishing with the worst record in ftanchise history.
  3. watch out for pittsburgh.
  4. yuck.
  5. for a brief moment last year you could see it. he was being physical and getting to the corners and the front of the net, hitting people. then this year there's been nothing. its puzzling.
  6. ras has been a huge disappointment this year. not physical enough.
  7. you'll get tobias harris on a max deal and like it! and then a trade of jaden ivey for draymond green and some second round picks, re-signing james wiseman and quentin grimes, and then trading those second rounders to get back into the first round to nab zack edey, and bringing back rodney magruder.
  8. the white sox are currently focused on extorting a few billion from the city/state to build them a new ballpark. they dont expect much from the on-field product right now. they got a haul for adam eaton, chris sale, and jose quintana: giolito, moncada, cease, kopech, and jimenez all came over in those deals. add that to tim anderson and luis robert and they thought they were set. but covid ruined their best season and they decided to hire tony larussa instead of aj hinch and they ended up with no playoff victories to show for it. now anderson is a shell of himself, cease was traded, giolito regressed mightily, kopech cant start, and moncada, robert, and jimenez cant play full seasons. moreover, the clubhouse is toxic and split because of guys who try hard during the game, and guys who try hard at the clubs after the game despite being on the iniured list. they wrecked their window. man, you just hate to see it. 🙂
  9. eloy jimenez waited until game 3 to get hurt "running" to first base. moncada fouled a ball of his shin and will probably be out for a month now. give it 3 more days until robert gets a cold that keeps him out for two weeks. gotta love the sox falling apart 3 games into the season.
  10. it worked for the pelicans.
  11. hinch is a really good manager.
  12. multiple times he's taken a very lacadaisacal attitude toward fielding or running the bases. he's been "hurt" multiple times when he's been spotted out late night in chicago. that could be a function of the dystunctional white sox clubhouse and hanging out with the ultimate "i'm hurt and cant play but i'm going to go out and party" player yoan moncada. the white sox have a clubhouse issue between their american players and their spanish speaking players. if you take on robert, you have to figure out how to incorporate him in your positive culture.
  13. what would you trade for luis robert?
  14. alabama
  15. reduce the size of the lane so big man can camp out more on offense, or get rid of the three seconds rule. make an offensive three seconds call for any player standing in the corner. move the three point line back even more, or get rid of it altogether.
  16. better than 0, i guess. this was how they survived all season, because of alex lyon. if he can get hot again, perhaps they can pick up some points on another streak? but i think its too little too late now.
  17. i think he added a lot of middle of the road professional players to beef up the locker room. i dont think we want to be buffalo, always winning the prospect race but always finishing last. i understand why he did what he did in free agency for the MOST part. i still dont understand holl AND petry. one or the other maybe, but there was no need for both. people bag on chairot bit he's been pretty decent this year.
  18. i asked why it was good asset management to deal bogey/burks for two seconds and a bench player rather than the first they could have gotten for bogey last year and you told me it was because of grimes. i think the front office agreed with you that grimes and two seconds is better than a mid to low first. grimes is an injured role player. to me its another example of weaver misusing assets. one of MANY examples because he is terrible at his job.
  19. he's always said he's building a long term project, and he has the leash to do it because he's steve freaking yzerman. kenny holland said rebuilds take ten years. to me, the rebuild STARTED in yzerman's first year. kenny left this team with one of the worst teams in modern nhl history and a terrible farm system. that team had larkin, bertuzzi, mantha, and hronek. to me the rebuild began in 19-20, which puts us on course for being a contender in 2029! whoo hoo were ahead of schedule! maybe.
  20. tells me they dont think theyre going to make it this year. keep bringing up filler guys and no potential difference makers. they care more about GR doing well in the playoffs than detroit making it and losing in 4. in the big picture, that might be the smarter move.
  21. early pre-season futures win totals: lions 10.5 pack 10.5 bears 8.5 vikings 6.5 (lions even, pack juiced to the under, bears and vikings juiced to the over)
  22. tigers and lions seem low, pistons seem way too high. the pistons dont even own their own arena.
