historical analogies are always imperfect but the "we need a guy who can shoot over a shot maker" got us luke kennard over donovan mitchell. if scoot was there, we should take him. are either of the thompson twins a donovan mitchell type? doesnt sound like it. that said, i want someone who can shoot! lol. what do you thinl of berggren? seems like a third or fourth line player. drifts way too much. but he has a lot of creativity. even with those criticisms, its a decent find from round 2.

what we really need is for someone to draft derrick lively at #2. that way - when he fails - we can trade for him in 3 years. can never have enough 7 foot failures on your team.

what's the difference between bates and jordan poole coming out of michigan? the off court stuff for bates for sure, but poole didnt have a good reputation for on court behavior at michigan (beilein wasnt a fan) and poole is much shorter. bates is tall and can shoot, someone will draft him. i just hope its not detroit.

nothing wrong with wanting to be, but realize its most likely not going to happen. troy and the boys havent shown much ability to develop guys like miami has. speaking only from an optics perspective - because that's really all we have as fans - but hiring kevin ollie just looks awful. like a "he's one of my boys" hire because troy knows him. if that's what happens you'll see all sorts of fawning articles from pistons media (because that's all they write), but wont troy be on the clock at that point? need to see some big improvement next season.

is there a podcast out there that is remotely critical of troy weaver? every one of them talks about cade and ivey and duren and never mentions bagley or wiseman or casey or 17 wins. its like listening to pravda broadcasts.

why? a houston team is much more valuable. there are almost as many people in houston's metro area than there are in the entire province of quebec. plus the canadiens are firmly entrenched as the favorite team there. but you never know, they went back to winnipeg so maybe they will? i wonder if they go back to atlanta again? i cant imagine they would, but the population is changing since they left and they do support an mls team pretty well. lots of milenials moving down there in the last decade. i bet they at least kick the tires on it again.

what's the union going to do about it? hem and haw? "conduct detrimental to the league" is quite broad and allows the league a lot of leeway. i dont think he'll get 50 games. i do think he'll probably get 20-25. that said, i dont think its out of the realm of possibility he gets more than that. its terrible optics for the league AND he made the commish look stupid and weak. the league will punish that.
