  1. texas too. oklahoma maybe.
  2. cant win at auburn. he wont go there. if he was going to get back into coaching it would be at a place like u$c or the sec. places that have the foundation to win and will spend the money to win. auburn has a lucky season every now and again but cant compete on a regular basis. i could see him at lsu, georgia, or bama. i dont think he walks into a place like auburn that is a dumpster fire. he's got more money than he knows what to do with at this point. but you never know. he's arrogant enough to think he can do anything.
  3. i dont have to do anything of the sort. they really began "rebuilding" at basically the same time. first of all, its week 6. plenty of time for the lions to get better and the jets to get worse. the jets arent world beaters. neither are the giants (who you arent talking about). the nfl is about injuries as much as anything and the lions have been hurt more than most. again. at the end of the day, if we take the long view, its almost better for the lions to be horrible this season and be in position for another top 3 pick because this year there are qbs worth that pick in the draft. but as a fan, i'm tired of always taking the long view to next year's draft. this was supposed to be the year we saw some improvement and we havent. its frustrating to see other perennial losers get better as we get worse. again.
  4. never.
  5. that will never happen.
  6. the jets were 2-14 that year and the lions were 5-11. the jets kept adam gase the whole season and the lions fired patricia 3/4 of the way through. the result was the same, the only difference is the lions picked 7th and the jets picked 2nd. they both cleaned house and brought in new coaches at the same time. the jets didnt fire their gm but the lions did. and the giants brought in new coaches and immediately got better. the lions have not. i think some of that is because of injuries, but not all of it. holmes and campbell have to be held responsible for results at some point.
  7. osu's schedule is tougher than michigan's. notre dame may be flailing but they have more talent than csu, hawaii and uconn combined. and toledo is better than all of those teams michigan played ooc. michigan deserves to miss the playoff for that ooc. part of me really hope it comes back to bite them in the ass. oh, the team they chickened out and dropped in order to schedule hawaii at night? ucla.
  8. they began rebuilding when they tore it down and drafted wilson, iirc. i think they let douglas do that even though he had been the gm before that time. kind of like how they had quinn be there and be the gm and keep caldwell for a year before they began to tear it down. that's how i remember it but i could be wrong.
  9. the jets started rebuilding 2 years ago when they traded all their assets and drafted zack wilson #2. the lions began at the same time, but were even further behind apparently.
  10. that was a weird process. he went from the favorite to "no way" very quickly.
  11. giants and jets sure seemed to turn it around awfully quickly. and then there's the lions. at least we were decent on hard knocks!
  12. georgia tennessee ohio state clemson michigan alabama ucla i dont think alabama is all that good this year. their offense is unbelieveable with young pulling multiple rabbits out of multiple hats, and their running back who is so dang fast. but that defense looks vulnerable for the first time in a long time. this loss has been coming for a while. they should have lost to texas a & m AND texas already. tennessee has a signature win now, unlike osu who struggled against a bad notre dame team but has blown the doors off of multiple bad teams since. if youre michigan, root for illinois, penn state, and ohio state to keep winning to boost your schedule. can we all take a minute to laugh at notre dame? stanford and marshall both have only one win over an fbs team this year: notre dame. both AT notre dame. freeman is recruiting his butt off, but his staff cant coach for shit.
  13. the hope is it plays out like last year: michigan's oline just bullies a weaker osu d line. plus jj has more potential than mccaffery. in all honesty, the dbs have been pretty good this year. the defense's problem is the same as last year: linebacker. you saw georgia pick michigan's linebackers apart last year. one would think osu with their amazing running backs will be able to do the same. the hope is that michigan's power can keep osu off the field and wear them down. and that somehow hill-greene plays football again. im not optimistic. in fact, i think its likely osu wins by double digits; however, michigan still has that puncher's chance because their oline is arguably better than last year.
  14. i wouldnt be surprised if tennessee and clemson are ahead of michigan. i would have no problem with it given michigan's terrible ooc schedule. plus, i dont think penn state is very good. james franklin is a great recruiter and a very poor game coach.
  15. played a bad goalie tonight and got a little lucky. the bottom pair defensemen are an issue. otoh, elmer and the big line continue to impress. they are playing much more physically than last year.
  16. outplayed but winning!
  17. michigan has yet to build in recruiting off their season last year. their recruiting this year is awful. why? nil and their refusal to use it.
  18. that doesnt mean as much now in the world of nil, imo. texas a & m has never won jack and they pulled the top recruiting class last year.
  19. michigan will need to go undefeated to make it. their schedule is hot garbage. they're about to get jumped by tennessee. if youre michigan, root for georgia to run the table and clemson, usc/ucla to lose. at this point - with that schedule - i find it hard to believe a 1 loss michigan makes it in over an undedeated usc or ucla.
  20. its because their offenses are so damn good.
  21. watching bama-tennessee and michigan state-wiscy is like watching two different sports.
  22. (dont check the recruiting class)
  23. the giants are frauds.
  24. dominated with nothing to show for it. need to get some bodies in front of allen.
  25. now that chryst is gone, you might see a better wisconsin team.
