  1. i'd pay to watch miggy bat one more time. and i agree with the posters who wrote that how you treat your icon players matters. you signed him to that stupid deal and now you have to live with it. besides, i'd rather see miggy bat and strike out than fawn all over the next mike laga and make excuses for the next five years when he cant hit.
  2. the simplest solution is for usc to win. im all for that. if usc wins and tcu loses and osu jumps tcu, THAT would be a travesty. i do not want to play osu again. and i dont think they deserve to be in.
  3. swift is too talented to let go and too injury prone to count on. poisoned chalice.
  4. tua is a system qb with a smart head coach. lawrence has an amazing arm but isnt surrounded by the same system tua is. lawrence will be fine.
  5. listening to osu podcasts this week has been GLORIOUS.
  6. they should make it. they shouldnt be penalized for a second loss in an extra game that osu didnt have to play.
  7. the memes and tik toks around the world cup are always tremendous. watch out dutch, here we come! get ready to stomp on some tulips! time to rename holland, michigan! but seriously, the dutch arent that great. its hard to tell with this us team. its midfield is playing tremendously well right now, but the only team with a world class midfield they have played is england, and england werent exactly going all out when they played the us. the dutch must win. now, this is a louis van gaal dutch team. expect slow ball control and a real attempt to mitigate even the slightest of defensive mistakes. target daley blind, he's slow af. hope memphis is still hobbling. hope the us can stay with gakpo cause he's the real deal and about to be sold for $100 million. ecuador overran the dutch in midfield and controlled the game, its not out of the realm of possibility that the us could do the same. however, the dutch defense and forwards are much better than the americans. especially in central defense.
  8. i worked with some southern lawyers who went to auburn and they were all solid guys. southern universities get a bad rap in the north because we like to make fun of the south, but theyre pretty solid folks, imo. that said, the sec has been such a hotbed of cheating and corruption for so long, its hard not to look askance at their universities that are associated with those programs. (and sec fans are so effing annoying)
  9. i still like bryce young over any of the qbs. he makes plays with his arm, head and legs. stroud looks like goff to me, cant handle pressure and wont move. not sure if that works as well as a qb who can move in today's nfl. but stroud has a great arm and great touch. someone will take him (hopefully the texans at 1). the athletic trade scenarios: 6, 44, 62, and a 2024 second to the texans for the #1 pick (bryce young) 6, 74 for the #3 pick (cj stroud) thoughts? i dont think that's enough to move up from 6 to 3. the bears gave up #3, #67, #111 and a future 3rd to move up from 3 to 2. i dont think the lions get to #3 without throwing in some future draft capital too. the niners gave up #12, two future firsts and a future third to go up to 3. just a third to go up to #3 seems light.
  10. ringo might be the only "jalen ramsey" type in the draft. and if you want him, you have to get him early. its either him or a top qb like levis.
  11. plays in a very qb friendly offense. reportedly only has one read to make. old. injured. 3rd round flyer.
  12. no on geno. hard pass.
  13. well....that escalated quickly.
  14. hey, mel tucker can pay that off with his bonus! michigan at michigan state next year is going to be very bad.
  15. trading short term success for a long term disaster is the definition of auburn.
  16. all good points. i'll leave it to the people with actual talent evaluating skills (i.e. not me) to make thar decision because i really have no idea. (which will not prevent me from making my usual half assed opinions om the subject)
  17. i had to come on and say i went 13-3 this weekend. the greatest gambling week of my life. the luckiest gambling week of my life. ole miss -3 (loser) arizona -4 (loser) iowa state +11 (loser) florida + 9.5, washington - 2.5, minnesota +3, texas a & m +10, commanders -3, broncos-panthers under 35.5, jags + 4.5, bills-lions over 52.5, 3 pick moneyline parlay vikings, cowboys, bills, michigan +7.5, bears-jets under 42, 3 pick parlay titans +7, browns +10, raiders +10.5, 4 pick moneyline parlay 49ers, dolphins, chiefs, jets, and panthers moneyline. best. weekend. ever.
  18. you would think that a coach from canada would know not to poke the bear. nice job rookie.
  19. the rams have no incentive to lose...but they may not have a choice.
  20. can we please leave the politics in the tire fire that is the political forum?
  21. stephen ross needs to get off his butt.
  22. jacksonville is no pushover. next week will be a real test for the lions.
  23. michigan was pretty close to letting him walk after covid. that said, i think harbaugh will retire when he wants to. if they dont improve their nil game, that might be sooner rather than later. this season will be a nice test to see of theyve made any adjustments to their transfer portal strategy. lets see of they can pull any oregon or notre dame recruits they lost. or maybe a transfer or two from stanford.
  24. so i guess state didnt use all their money on a failed head coach? they have some left over to try to pay moore.
  25. ive seen his name mentioned too.
