klingberg seems like a little better nick leddy. and he's declining. and terrible on defense. seems like a lot of money to pay for an aging power play specialist.

its not a perfect comparison, but its fine when they get older.

he also tore up the IL after being traded to the reds. with better numbers than tork at the same age and with more walks than strikeouts...which tork does not have. look, tork has plenty of time and i do think he'll be a solid mlb player. but i think it is unlikely he will be as good as konerko but if he was i would be ecstatic.

konerko was also drafted and developed by the dodgers, who have a long history of developing good players. tork was drafted by and is being developed by the tigers....who....ummm....do not have a long history of developing good players.

do you think we would be fortunate if tork turned into konerko, who is a borderline hall of famer? i certainly do. and regardless of whether its an apples to oranges comparison - because there can be no exact comparisons - they are both slow footed, big first basemen with good power, eye, and a major hit tool. that's what we were told. i think konerko is tork's ceiling. and if he hit it, we should all be doing cartwheels. as to their minor league careers, konerko had more at bats in the minors than tork, but he also did much better than tork. everyone clamored for tork to make the opening day roster, turns out we were wrong. he's not ready.

i think they traded for meadows because they thought they were competing for a playoff spot this year. i dont think they've rated paredes for a long time. and quite honestly, he doesnt look so hot in tampa right now (but he still has potential).

we'll be very lucky if tork turns into konerko. konerko's minor league numbers were much better than tork's.

i thought melifonwu looked overmatched at corner. he got left in the dust a few times. he was a zone corner in college and probably doesnt have the game speed to be a top nfl corner. i think the lions secondary and dline have potential to grow. if the potential pays off for a few guys, they might have something. linebacker? well....barnes might be ok! roquan smith might be a free agent next year...

yes. naturally i would like him to be better, but that would be a success in my mind. same with the "castellanos who can play center" scenario.

im not completely sold either, but i think his athletic profile is such that it gives him the highest ceiling.

why would the league retire kobe's number? i get that his death was a tragedy (much moreso because of his daughter), but a league wide number retirement? seems excessive. they should name an award for him. maybe the most selfish player in the league that season? jk. maybe set up a scholarship or a program in his name for something to do with youth girls bball? he seemed to be into that and his role as a "girl dad" before he died. reinventing himself after his...unfortunate...escapades in denver.

im not worried because he was sent down, that was almost to be expected. im worried that he's sucked since he was sent down and is striking out a lot. at aaa. he should be dominating triple a. yeah yeah small sample size, but i'll be less worried when he starts hitting again. any day now would be a nice start...

i've never thought faedo was any good. but i didnt figure skubal would be this good, so what do i know? i have serious doubts about mize but i'm still on the manning bandwagon. i think manning bas the best shot at being a star. who knows about jobe? not i. but again, i have my doubts considering he was an avila pick. unlike mtu, i am worried about tork.
