  1. if deshaun watson looked like jerry jones, lebron james would be protesting the browns. but he looks like lebron, so lebron doesnt care.
  2. this was a great win, but that bears team is the least talented team in the league. they are god awful. they have three rookies starting in the secondary, have their thirs string linebackers in, and their dline is atrocious having trades quinn and mack. theyre a borderline usfl team. on offense their oline is absolute garbage and their one decent lineman got hurt on the first series (tevin jenkins, who they drafted to play left tackle but who has already been busted down to guard because he was so bad at tackle. instead they start a 5th round rookie at left tackle and reilly reiff at right tackle.) and even with the worst line in the league, alex leatherwood cant make the gameday roster. what a waste. what they do have is one of the best running backs in the league. but he's their quarterback.
  3. lions currently pick 6th and 17th.
  4. i dont think stroud will be there either.
  5. if you go by sports reference's rating system, michigan's best teams were: 47 48 40 73 43 46 76 33 43 64 85 was ranked 11th 2022 was 25th 1997 was 28th
  6. this was probably the third best michigan team i can really remember. the early 70s teams are generally thought of as bo's best, but the 85-86 teams with harbaugh at qb were the best i can remember from bo's days. lloyd's best team was 97 obviously, but the brady teams were right there too. for some reason the 06 team just doesnt rate as highly for me considering what happened to them at the end. mo had some good squads too. the team that tied 3 games was good. desmond's hesiman year was a really good team who just met up with a juggernaut washington team in the rose bowl and got embarassed.
  7. didnt they lose a game like that to northwestern when atrain fumbled? i think they lost an ot game to illinois during the richrod era.
  8. "he's going fine" on a bad ahl team is not a ringing endorsement.
  9. i bet the tigers will lose more than 60 games next year...
  10. bobby higginson is travis fryman's kid? well knock me over with a feather...
  11. it's not like edvinnson is setting the world on fire in grand rapids...
  12. guys....its the jets. its not happening.
  13. if the packers are in a "win and youre in" scenario, the networks will take the packers over any team other than the cowboys.
  14. last week the panthers were on a roll to the division title and the lions were the worst team of chokers in the league. this week the panthers are terrible and stupid for blowing draft position and the lions are one win from the playoffs. welcome to the nfl. its a week to week league.
  15. dont jinx it. the browns are lions east.
  16. losing THIS game will be "same ol lions."
  17. to all of you young fans under 50: this is what being a michigan fan has always been like. really great regular seasons followed by a disappointing bowl loss. welcome to the 70s and 80s!
  18. they'll be signing contracts that tie them to one school for at least two, probably three years. it will part of the collective bargaining agreement...
  19. they kicked me out of the suite for that. well, that and my constant yelling that casey is a hack. they bring back a bulls player from the past for every game. this game happened to be former piston cliff levingston. i dont think my suitemates appreciated me screaming about the dan roundfield trade for 20 minutes after they introduced levingston.
  20. melifonwu starting at safety again is bad news for the lions defense.
  21. andre's fat ass scoring on marvin bagley was just icing on the cake.
  22. ohio state is more talented than michigan on paper. them being a 3 point favorite on a neutral field is not surprising to me at all. in fact, if osu beats georgia, i expect that line will only increase in osu's favor.
  23. i still have high hopes for manning. mize was "consensus" #1 in the press, but avila is paid to know better than what's reported on mlb.com. faedo dropped for a reason. that's what i remember reading at the time. jobe is a complete head scratcher for me. mayer was sitting right there and you took a right handed high school pitcher, the most injury prone of any position available, who could allegedly "spin" the ball well. it strikes me as avila learning about "spin rate" last year and then applying his newfound knowledge in the draft the next year. he might turn out to be great, but because he was selected by avila, i doubt it. all this reminds me of the randy smith era. once it became painfully obvious that he was a bad judge of talent, every hyped up prospect became suspect. encarnacion, kapler, munson, drews, etc. all were top prospects with tremendous hype and "prospect rankings." and they all failed to be amything more than average to below average players. after awhile a pattern emerges. the same thing has happened with avila. until proven otherwise, i am going to assume all his picks will not pan out and if harris trades them all, so be it.
