  1. portland more likely to deal that pick to chicago if lavine says he wants out. chicago maxes him and deals him to portland for first rounder, beldsoe and filler. what they should do is deal lillard but they seem unwilling to consider that.
  2. givony has us talking ivey 5. sac taking murray.
  3. well youngin', ive seen the tigers win once, michigan football win once, michigan basketball win once, the WINGS WIN FOUR TIMES, and the pistons win 3 times. ive even seen the lions win a playoff game. which is probably more surprising than any of the others...
  4. this feels more like it. back to our usual lack of lottery luck/getting fucked. steve yzerman waves hello.
  5. will anderson is set to be a top pass rusher too. bears could easily take him at the top.
  6. what would it take for the wings to take mrazek from the leafs? a first round pick? second? he's got a no trade clause, so were probably on it.
  7. nobody was going to trade multiple first round picks for justin fields. its been one year, the bears are not giving up on fields and not drafting a qb next year. if they end up #1 they'll either be trading that pick for multiple #1 picks from a qb hungry team like the panthers, lions, vikings, giants, washington, etc etc etc.
  8. seider ranking as an "almost elite" defenseman at age 20-21 is pretty damn good.
  9. because trey lance was terrible last year and theyre making projections off that.
  10. https://www.wingedwheelpodcast.com/post/if-i-were-steve-yzerman-2022-edition-part-1 pras is always good at these. bottom line: we have a long way to go.
  11. 1) lol bears 2) this has the lions playing 8 games against teams ranked below them. 3) i think there is too much emphasis on what these young qbs did last year and doesnt factor in enough growth from them. 4) lol bears (again)

it speaks to my point that those teams were BUILT around hitting. they got fluke years from pitchers other than morris (who was steadily very good, but never great). they won when they got fluke good seasons from good pitchers but the core was always the hitters. dont confuse a fluke season from mcclain or willie hernandez as the "core" of the team. im not saying youre doing that, but others are. those teams - and all the great tigers teams in old tiger stadium - were built on the foundations of great hitters. cobb/heilman/crawford gehringer/cochrane/greenberg kaline/cash/horton/northrup whitaker/trammell/gibson/parrish/evans/lemon the tigers' problem has ALWAYS been pitching.

  14. i dont get why the lions would be ranked that low. i know power rankings are stupid, but i just dont see the lions as in the bottom 5 in the league any more.

or trade/sign pitching that isnt injury prone and is a proven commodity.

the 84 team was NOT pitching centric. neither was the 68 team. those teams were built around hitting. in fact, the tigers' history is one of great hitters and above average but not great pitching (probably due a lot to their stadium). its when they can pair their hitting with great seasons from their above average pitching that they won.

arent they just as likely to blow out their arms in the minors? how long do you keep them out of the big leagues because they might get hurt? that's the risk for all pitchers. (which is why you should build around hitters)
  22. oooh! ohhh! now do the offense! does that make avila a genius?
