    reminds me of when "football genius" dave wanstedt said he had sources who told him kansas and iowa state were joining the big ten shortly. this was right after oklahoma and texas joined the sec. but i dont need to tell you how stupid dave wannstedt is or that he's on chicago radio (along with all the other local geniuses).

    duke brings nothing to the conference. duke is beholden to whatever unc deigns to give them. in fact, duke is more likely to join the "basketball only" big east than the big ten or the sec. or just stay in the second division acc after unc bolts to the big ten or sec. maybe the acc should invite navy to get nd to stay?

    i guess seattle isnt that big of a market yet! stanford could potentially influence notre dame. then again, i really wonder if they would leave cal behind? but youre right about the academic thing, obviously. i still think the wishlist would be notre dame, stanford, north carolina, and then maybe virginia or cal.

    that said, i like your predictions because i have the eagles to win the division at +400, the colts to win at +220, and the lions to finish second behind the packers at +800.... so i hope youre right!!!!

    9-8 is plausible, however very unlikely. beating the pack in green bay in round one is a little overboard.

    what would be the motivation for another exec to say that? its more likely that avila said it or some agent said it.

    "gave us a blanket that just about everyone is available". multiple execs saying theyre willing to trade him. that's about as much of a direct quote as youre gonna get from a "major league exec."

    how many chances does avila get to rebuild this team? it is amazing that anyone thinks avila deserves the shot to tear this down and rebuild it. i cant believe illitch would be that stupid.

    yeah, we might trade him for a young, cost controlled pitcher. not sure where we could find one of those. trading skubal makes little sense to me for a team that's far away like detroit. it makes even less sense for the tigers who were supposedly done rebuilding, let the guy who built this tire fire of a team then trade it away and build another one. that seems like a recipe for continued failure.

    from what ive heard, oregon and washington dont bring much to the table money-wise and may actually be a drag on the conference. seems hard to believe but that's what's been out there. and we all know the next expansion is all about notre dame.

    the nets rebuilt completely from yhe ground up after the disaster of the garnett/pierce trade. they brought in a great coaching staff, stuck to a philosophy, and began to build a winning culture. then they tore it all down to sign an injured durant and a petulant shit in kyrie. and then doubled down by trading for fat james harden. topped it off with a ridiculous coaching hire. they made this bed and now they can sit and die in it.
