that's why i'm wary of counting on berggren or mcissac to be anything special. any player drafted by the previous regime is suspect to me. they missed on almost every single pick from 2015 to 2018. the players they picked high who are in the nhl (zadina, ras, veleno, lindstrom, smith, hronek) are all either bad or below average players. none have developed into difference makers in the nhl.
i dont trust anything that ken holland touched on this team. nothing.
in fairness, many of them are still young and still have time to develop, but its not looking good for any of them right now to be anything more than role players at best, which is the kiss of death for a team like detroit.
