  1. when the republicans control the senate in a few months, how many liberals will be loving the filibuster and praising manchin and sinema for protecting minority rights against the republican authoritarians?
  2. 90% of india is vaxxed. lol. yeah right.
  3. i firmly believe that if dr king were alive today he would support the candidates that i support. says everyone.
  4. i agree that sheila is not the same as wcf. wcf was incompetent and sheila appears to be not incompetent.
  5. the fords bought the lions in 1963. up until then, the lions had been the second best team of the 1950s and had finished second to the packers/lombardi machine in green bay for multiple seasons and in 1962 had given the pack a real run for their money. since then they've won one playoff game in 60 years. what is the argument that anyone else is worse in putting a winning product on the field? as for snyder, since he has owned the team, the artists formerly known as redskins have lost 5 playoff games but won the division twice. the lions have lost 4 playoff games and - as we all know - have NEVER won the nfc north. futility edge to the fords.
  6. btw, if leaves they probably promote gattis. mgoblog has a good thing today on a lot of this stuff.
  7. he lives next door to his dad, his kids are in the same schools he went to. i think that's important to him. but i dont know anything. i think michigan will pay him, but whether they change their transfer procedures and nil procedures, they arent going to be able to compete. harbaugh likely knows that and might bail if he thinks it will be an issue.
  8. raiders are said to be interviewing gms and telling them they have to work with the current coach. all just rumors right now.
  9. the united states is not close to anyone's version of the handmaids tale. that's hyperbole. about as hyperbolic as the right yelling about sharia law.
  10. a fitting tribute to henry viii. dude loved to party.
  11. i dont understand how having more murders than any year since the height of the crack epidemic (when medical care was also not as good as now so more people who were shot actually died) is somehow a good thing because st louis has a higher murder rate per capita?
  12. is it the one with the most murders of any city in the country? the one with more murders than the two largest cities in the us combined???
  13. no tater, this is hyperbole on your part.
  14. not sure about breaking up larkin and bert but they got the win today and both played really well. fabbri with a great play on larkin's first goal. good check got the puck and then a nice pass to larkin for the one timer. bert was all over the ice today doing usual bert things. he's playing himself into a nice, fat contract.
  15. the bears seemingly have a lot of cap space, but 3/4 of their team are free agents. they have a ton of players to sign. the rest of the team is old. the bears are not in great shape unless you think justin fields is the real deal. then they still have to put a team around him.
  16. but not about this, you're right about the fords. the mccaskeys have won a super bowl and been to a second. the fords have never sniffed a super bowl.
  17. wrong again tater. lol.
  18. good for stafford! things get a little tougher next week.
  19. https://www.google.com/amp/s/chicago.suntimes.com/platform/amp/crime/2022/1/3/22858995/chicago-violence-dangerous-murders-per-capita-2021-2020-surge-garfield-park-police-lori-lightfoot neighborhoods like West Garfield Park — those with high levels of poverty and mostly minority residents — the level of violence has likely never been worse, according to data compiled by the University of Chicago Crime Lab and a Chicago Sun-Times analysis of city violence data. *** something for everyone in there. certainly not just a "scare white people" article.
  20. oh, i'll play! what are "cities that don't have as many people killed as chicago"!
  21. you're nuts. i hope you dont carry your wallet with you, or your phone. i had a claim on west madison once. some lady claimed she fell in a grocery store. i took 290 from napertucky and then came up a side street. nothing but vacant lots and burned out houses. lots of folks just walking around aimlessly in the middle of the day. lots of young males in white t shirts on corners. no thanks. reminded me of detroit, back in the day. lol. we went to the garfield conservatory for a wedding once. got sent down side streets. reminded me of watching the wire. lots of people hanging out on stoops, looking rough.
  22. east garfield park is a shit hole. i wouldnt ride my bike through there or not be worried if my wife were walking around there at night if i were chas. lol.
  23. suffice to say, i dont agree with almost all of this post. lol. tater, you and i come from different perspectives. but we can both agree that america has a long history of racism that has created the structural disadvantages that help create the black-white inequality we see today. at least i think we can agree on that. 🙂
  24. he's already moved on to 2022. but so far in 2022, the victims of shootings have been 17 black people, 2 hispanics, and 2 whites. its gives a neighborhood breakdown too. there's even been two in chas's neighborhood. 😉
