i dont know if they'll be a playoff contender next year. the year after is when they should be in the mix for the playoffs. they have a long, long way to go and a huge hole to dig out of. but you never know. if vrana can come back, edvinsson is as good as seider has been, and raymond can continue what he did at the beginning of the year then maybe. but what they have now is a good (not great) top line, an ok top 2 defensive pairing (seider is good, leddy has been ok), and then a huge drop off. hronek is bad. dekyser is bad. staal has been getting bad lately. lindstrom and oesterle are bottom of the rotation guys. on the front line they have an entire team full of bottom six role players. ras, veleno, zadina, suter, fabbri. these are ALL bottom six guys. they can fill a role. they can plug in and be good soldiers. but that's all they are and all they look like they will be. they need an entire second line of players. maybe they get that when vrana comes back and either joins line 2 or pushes raymond down, but they desperately need another good center. do they get lottery luck and end up with wright? if not, do they spend on a top line 2 center free agent like hertl (who abused them in sharks games the last two times they played)? i dont see either happening and yzerman continues to patiently build more depth. after NEXT season i expect them to make some moves and go for it.

coach larinov will be here when the wings are ready to open up and skate with other nhl clubs. two years from now if the rebuild stays on track.

i disagree. i dont players give a damn about who advertises with mlb. do they drink more because mlb partners with beer companies? do they drive more because they partner with car companies? if players were gambling - which, lets remember, has been legal in vegas for a long time - they'll probably continue to do so. and - again - there have been many cases of people shaving points to influence outcomes (which i thought was the concern, not players gambling on their own time on other things) long before this. i dont think this changes anything.- 1,851 replies

who told you that? cause i said if you players a lot of money and put penalties in place it would largely eliminate gambling scandals like shaving points. or at least that's what i meant. not that you give a flying fuck.- 1,851 replies

the pistons worst loss since 1978. heck, this is probably the pistons worst team since 1979 so its fitting. what an embarrassment of a game. -
terrible 5-3 and then at the last second hronek skates inside and puts a perfect pass on bert's stick for the tying goal. knowing hronek he was trying to score and missed.
-
hronek and staal are a problem

zadina on the power play equals turnovers and poor decisions.

pretty much. game was dead on arrival. you can thank the league for scheduling the pistons on a road back to back while the bulls had the day off. -

not true. they're actively experimenting with ideas in the minor leagues, which is a perfect way to test them.- 1,851 replies
