  1. that didnt look like the same team. maybe its just because they were playing buffalo? but they were moving the puck up the ice, getting it out of the zone, firing shots, cycling in the other team's zone. where has this been all year? they looked like a different team on offense. yeah, must be buffalo. otoh, they looked like the same team on defense. is there a team in the league that has worse forwards on defense? how many times do we need to see motte, berggren, and then holl get beat on the backside for rebound goals? granted, husso was atrocious and would probably be in grand rapids if lyons and talbot werent injured but COME ON. you cant win games when your goalies play like that. but hey, at least they finally won a game.
  2. look at all that wasted money. tobias harris makes $26 million. smh.
  3. as a member of one of those fanbases, i say i dont care. it will get ok ratings because its michigan alabama, but not massive ratings because it means nothing, the best players wont play, and its on new years eve. i wonder what the bowl game ratings will look like this year with all the focus on the playoff? this one will probably get the highest non-playoff ratings. maybe. they played a few years ago in a bama second half beatdown of shea patterson and i doubt many people watched.
  4. michigan alabama again? sheesh. who cares.
  5. anyone who believes anything ja morant has to say should have their head examined.
  6. at this rate beasley might get us a first rounder at the deadline. of course, we wont teade him because we really want to make the play-in game... hooray for the 8th (or 10th) seed!
  7. beasley is what fontechio was supposed to be. not sure if the knicks took this game seriously. sat KAT. this is the type of game KAT thrives on: nonpressure against a bad team with a center (duren) who cant cover stretch bigs. team scores 120 without deadweight ausar on the floor? i'm stunned. 🙂
  8. he had two top 2 picks: stamkos and hedman. and then was able to rip off the caps for a third difference maker and drafted vasilevski in round one. braden poynt was lucky, everything else wasnt. we'll see if cossa turns into vasilesvski. but he hasnt had a top two pick here. that's the real diffrlerence.
  9. i think so too. but its more a roster issue, imo. every move they made this offseason has backfired. every addition to the team has been bad (tarasenko, motte, gustaffson) and every player they moved on from has been good (ghost, walman). again, whatever former red wing is in charge of nhl scouting deserves to be fired. i understand the draft. i even understand that the average time for a second round pick to make the nhl is 4 to 5 years, so were right on the timeline for our bevy of so-called failed second rounders to make it soon. but to let walman and ghost and even perron go to sign this group has been the difference between last year almost making the playoffs and this year being a surefire lottery team.
  10. playing the worst defensive team in the league and the wings have...checks notes.... 0 goals.
  11. the real issue is they have to get some lottery luck and get that franchise offensive player.
  12. unless they got a pick for him, but i dont know how the wings could fit him unless they gave up salary in return. maybe we were saved by our own poor cap managament of giving big contracts to mediocre to bad players?
  13. And now there is talk of us trading for trouba? come on steve, youre smarter than that.
  14. this year is a write off, next year is the key. that's when you'll have significant cap space, that's when seider and raymond enter their prime and you have the ability to fill key depth roles with up and coming players on ELCs: edvinsson, danielson, kasper, cossa, wallinder/johannson/tuomisto, mazur. after this year you have two more years of copp and chairot and the buy outs dont look so terrible. you have a market with heiskennen and marner. you're likely to have a nice, high pick after this year. let's see what they can get at the deadline. so next year is the beginning. kenny always said it took 10 years to rebuild. well....the rebuild started in 2019 when yzerman got hired. were halfway there. 😞 but to all of your points, this year's offseason should make none of us comfortable with who is doing our pro scouting.
  15. berggren was really good in sweden too. i just have doubts on anyone the wings pick outside of round one right now.
  16. cant wait until he dies and oregon goes back to sucking ass.
  17. cost them the damn game. yeah, he's great yadda yadda yadda. but can someone please call him out when he ****s up?
  18. hey mo, why dont you just STAND THERE AND WATCH WHILE NORRIS LINES UP A SHOT FROM A GREAT SPOT ON THE ICE. do your job seider. come on.
  19. what's buch's ceiling? berggren? small playmaker?
  20. anything beats the all star game.
  21. me neither. its 2024, either activate the money cannon or get obliterated.
  22. fontecchio has been a real disappointment.
  23. too bad the russians cant play.
  24. michigan early signing period with a top ten class. the money cannon is fully operational.
